I've always cleaned my kitchen/bathroom vinyl floors on my knees with floorwipes or a damp cloth but I fell a few weeks ago and hurt my knee and can't kneel on it now
What sort of mop should I buy? I tried a squeezy mop thing - wilkos version of a Vileda but it broke the first time I used it  and no idea what type to buy now. I haven't much storage space so don't really want a huge metal mop bucket in my kitchen, any ideas gratefully received

Hi rockie
Personally, I wouldn't be without my steam mop... no buckets, not difficult to store and no chemicals apart from good old H2O.↑ Things I wouldn't say to your face

I saw one of those on a shopping channel at the weekend but I though £60 wasa a bit dear:eek: Are they worth it?0

If you have a bad back or mobility problems - worth every penny
There's no need to apply any pressure at all, none of this "swabbing the decks" stuff. And since you are not using any chemicals (not even cheapy ones) sooner or later it pays its keep.
It'll freshen carpets too. And I even used mine ( a bit awkward I'll admit) to help defrost my freezer
Last odds and ends put in the fridge, defrosting done, stuff back in the freezer in twenty minutes flat!Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. never heard of these before.
do you need many of the pads?
can you use them on sanded and varnished floorboards and lamiante floors?
thanks0 -
Oh dear, I came here originally to try and save some money but all I seem to do is spend it! My last buy was an electric meat slicer (worth every penny) and now I'm lusting after a steam press & a steam mop!
I've been looking on Ebay and they're a little bit cheaper, anyone got any recommendations? I'm wondering if the one's where you can remove the handle and use it as a hand-held are any good?Dum Spiro Spero0 -
I'm very tempted...........roll on payday0

oh no! Another gadget I need! Curv!! Stop it, I am addicted to gadgets and suffer badly from bakeware envy too :rotfl:
Although actually I was thinking now there's a topic I know something about. A MOP (at work) is short for Meter Operator0 -
At lakeland they are 59.99 and that comes with the original microfibre pad plus 2 extra Microfibre Pads free ...also postage is free.....all very tempting but has anyone tried the lakeland one. http://www.lakeland.co.uk/product.aspx/!21328We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.0

I've only got the one, at the moment, but you can buy extras if needed.
Yes to laminate floors, not sure about varnished ones, but it does say hardwood floors are ok.
I got mine from itsawrapHi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. I've just ordered one from Amazon, £55.69 that's with 4 extra pads and P&P.
I thought that was quite a good deal seeing as how everywhere else was an extra £15 for the extra pads.
I'm off work next week - can't wait to clean all my floors :j :j am I sad or wot0
