Congrats to everyone losing weight this week. I have been on holiday and I thought perhaps I would have put a couple of lbs on, but when I got weighed this week I had put 6 lbs on. OMG I was so disgusted. Trouble is I am finding it really hard to get back on track. Hopefully next week I will have lost some of it. I'm going to try walking a couple of miles each day and see if that helps.

    Fingers crossed.

I am losing weight with another diet, but am looking for the right type of maintenance plan to follow on.

I wonderered if ww might be right for us?

I am looking for a low carb way of eating, and I am looking to start reading up on it now,so I can start feeding it to OH now,so that when I start to cook for me too,I will be familiar with the eating plan.

Does ww fit the bill here? I honestly don't know much about it,or would I be better getting a low gi cookery book,or is it the same thing?

How would i get the hang of the ww diet maintenance plan, would I need to join the class later (I don't mind doing this) .If this ww diet is suitable what are the general principles? The points thing sounds a bit daunting. When you are just maintaining your weight do you still think in terms of points,or has your mind just kind of learnt the right way of eating by then?I am also more into the OS way of cooking.

Well, a new old weightwatcher. I followed it on my own a few years ago and lost 2.5 stone, but some of the weight has crept back on, so I want to lose 1.5 stone.

I'm on the first week and starving!!! And feeling hyper from too much diet coke at the pub - at least I didn't drink any alcohol and go over my points, I suppose.

Any great ideas for filling cld lunches, we have a canteen at work (dangerous) so no microwave :-(

The general principles of WW is that every food and drink has a points value based on how many calories/fat it contains, more calories fat = higher points. You have a set amount of points e.g. 20 that you should eat each day to lose or maintain your weight.

So you can still eat chocolate bars, have a glass of wine tce, but you'll be hungry as they'll use up your points! Whereas most vegetables are 0 points so you can each as much as you like.

So if you eat a 12 point pasty, you'd have to eat lots of healthy veg and low fat food for the rest of the day, and you end up choosing healthier lower point options.

I found (for a long time) that i became so programmed I instinctively ate healtheir foods, gave up pasties (haven't had one for over 4 years!!!) and stopped worrying about counting points.

It's not specifically a low carb diet, so you may be better off with something else, liek GI, but steer clear of diets like Atkins.

Just got back from weigh-in. Have managed to lose 4 of the 6 lbs I put on last week. So hopefully will be back on track next week. I think it must be bread and cheese what puts the weight on me so no cheese and very little bread.

    Good luck everyone.

i technically am meant to be on the maintainance plan as i ahve hit my official goal. but want to shift a few more pounds, essentailly the maintaince plan is +6 points from what points you finished on so for instance to loose weight i am on 16, so for maintaince i should add 6 to this, (though everyone is different, they recommend to increase the points gradually)

the other option on ww as well is the core plan, where you can eat what you want of certain foods, and the idea is you stick to 3 meals a day and try not to snack in between etc, there is a couple of unofficial ww sites that may help (the core list of foods is here: http://www.fr eewe bs.com/noreenblackett/nocountcorelist.htm (take out the gap between the r and the e in the web address)

Hi everyone, just wanted to introduce myself really, I have once posted on this topic but thought I should say hello really. I have been doing W/W (for the 10th thousand time - so it seems) for a month and my next weigh in is tomorrow night. I started at 203llbs, first week - 197.5llbs, second week - 195llbs, third week - 193.5llbs, fourth week - tomorrow!! Will let you all know how I get on. I was aiming for a stone in the first month and I've had a sneaky look on my scales at home and I am fairly close, not sure if I've done it though. I help out at my local W/W and I love watching all the people come in and to see there faces light up when they are told how much they have lost is the best feeling ever. It really does give that extra biut to carry on going.
    xXx
