    Hi guys,

Thanks so much for your kind words - I feel a bit self indulgent. I have had a !!!!!! year too, just one thing after another and yep weight gain at the end of it all. Things are slowly looking up, just need to get one main issue sorted and unfortunately its a man! Not sure that race will ever be sorted  Onwards and upwards....although its my mums birthday today so I'm going to have CAKE!!

I'm going to see Take That on Tuesday so I really shouldn't be so flipping miserable. I also got mum tickets for her birthday which I'll give her in a mo when I pop in during lunch and she has NO IDEA - I always have to phone her during the concerts so she can hear her fave songs (I have been to EVERY tour - oh dear!) so I hope she'll be dead excited.

I'm on FB too! I'll send a PM to you too :-) Won't it be wierd to see what we all look like...

    Hi all
Puddings, I'm sorry to hear you're not in a very good place at the moment. I look forward to your posts on here and you help to keep me going!
I started piling on the pounds when we found out my big sister had terminal cancer 2 years ago. I did my best to be brave and helped to care for her during her final months, but when I was home alone I just ate and ate and ate. We lost her at the end of October 07 (age 44) and although I did let my emotions out quite alot I still continued to comfort myself with food and I began to have a 'I just don't care anymore' attitude. I didn't think I'd ever stop feeling that way, but luckily, with the help of this thread I managed to get started with WW and am doing ok. I'm still feeling sad about my dear sis and I miss her so damn much but have realised that that is enough to deal with everyday without adding to my misery by feeling rubbish about my weight!
I hope you soon start to feel better. I'm on facebook too if anyone wants to pm me, I'll send you hugs :D

Hi Karen - well your post should make the rest of us think, no matter how bad things seems, other people have worse things to face. I can appreciate how your weight must have been the least of your worries.

I hope you're feeling a little better about things now and well done on your weight loss to date. Stick with it & be happy :)

You guys are seriously fabulous. :A

My 'issues' pale into insignificance and I'm generally just wallowing in my own self pity and I apologise for being so self indulgent. Completely agree with you Moonflowers, there are people a lot worse off than me. All I need really is some time out. Huge hugs for you karen - there will always be a part of your sister within her friends and family.

We lost OH's mum last year to cancer, his nan the month before (and more recently my Grandad) and things kind of spiralled out of control between us with me leaving him in Jan of this year - we are working on things and moving onwards and upwards though now at a steady pace. But when he wasn't 'there' either physically or mentally I comfort ate solidly - why on earth do we turn to food??

Anyhow, I'm much brighter today and can't thank you all enough. I had LOTS to eat last night but I'm drawing a line. Bagel and light pate for brekkie today, tomato and chilli couscous for lunch with a bag of cassava crackers and choc mullerlight. Sadly I'm watching a show tonight at which there will be an evil BUFFET! I am going to have a big pile of BNS chips (with something but I dont know what, something random I imagine) for dinner so I'm not tempted too much by the buffet later on.

WI Saturday morning (fingers crossed its not too bad) and I'm buying a new tracker ready for the next 12 weeks.

Will defo get round to PM-ing you all re FB!

It's only natural, we all tend to get wrapped up in ourselves at times. But like you said, why does that have to make us eat?! Or rather, why does that have to make us eat bad things? :)

It does sound like you've been through the mill too Puddings, so hope things get better for you too. Let us know how you get on at WI tomorrow. Draw that line & start again - we've all done that before!

    Good luck :)

Don't apologise for how you feel Puddings! It doesn't matter what puts us there, the feelings are just the same. Glad you're having a better day today. My other half is treating me to Indian today - how naughty lol. Will regret it I'm sure, but I'm going to enjoy it just the same!
Hope u all have a great weekend!
