called into Tesco today 13 Mch only bulbs on the shelf where priced at £1.30 + normal price.
No signes of this special offer and the c/service did not have any details of this offer.
Would ask the origin of this info and how accurate it is?

It is a genuine offer, I got 41 energy saving lightbulbs for 41p this morning, maybe your store has sold out, or not stocking the reduced items.

Got some in Tesco in Winkfield today, they were on the shelves at normal prices but scanned all sorts of different ones on the self scanner thing and some of them came up at 1p, mostly spiral ones, bayonet and screw fitting, and some of the ones that look like 'rods', they were the 'last 6 year' bulbs careful as the '6 year' and the '15 year' ones are in the same boxes and mixed on the shelf, it is only the 6 year ones that are reduced. The staff had no idea about the offer.

If you read the whole thread they are showing as full price but are coming up at 1p each. This is a nationwide offer.

But you must get the right ones

They had plenty at Tesco Extra in S!!!!horpe this morning but were going fast. Managed to get a dozen for us and our neighbour. Many thanks OP!! Welcome to MSE!
  • It's not a good idea to stock-up on these bulbs as they are not very good for your health especially if you break one! (contains mercury)

I wish, even though I bought 41, I have inserted 23 lightbulbs around the house this morning (its a tiny 4 bed newbuild) but I have 6 lightbulbs in the lounge pendant ceiling thingy alone, the rest I have given to my mother, sister and a couple to my elderly neighbour, cause she baked me a cake as I went and collected her bin as it blew down the street on Wednesday in the high winds.
