I see the statement like a red rag to a bull, it almost makes me want to bid on items, win, and then claim it never turned up and see just how sellers try and stick by their so called 'T&Cs' when Paypal get involved.... I don't obviously because that would be wrong, but meh, it just annoys me so much that buyers don't know their responsibilities before launching into selling.
As for doing the blank listings and then filling them in through the weeks, you lose potential bidders who stumble across the item before its complete, best thing about listing for 10 days (on a Thursday) is that it gives you 2 weekends exposure, but if you aren't filling it in straight away, and it sounds like some items until the final day of the auction, then you are losing so much exposure, and to be honest i'm surprised that auctions like that actually sell!
I've totally slowed down on ebay at the minute, got one book on there and thats it, and nothing lined up to sell after that.0 -
Well I finally managed to put another 10 items on on Thursday, it's been about 6 weeks since my last ebay outing  . I've got watchers on 4 items, these are for my hubby though and his stuff always goes  . I have been put off listing atm with all the scare stories I've heard over on the ebay thread.
Also can I ask what everyones experience of the "best offer" option has been? Have you got stupid offers or are they normally sensible? :think:Mortgage: Was: £154,495 Oct 2039 Now: £82,340.34 May 2037Swagbucks ~ £155 (2024 ~ £395)Surveys ~ £149.19 (2024 ~ £280.14)Make £2025 in 2025 #5 ~ £964.62 ~ (2024 ~ £2,561.04)0 -
Personally I'm loving Best Offer, to date I usually get a decent price - ie, asking £3.99 and accepting £3.50
I'm currently being hassled by a buyer who bought something from me on Thursday, in my listings I state that Monday is my posting day, and she's emailed me 3 times so far today to ask when I'll be posting!! I think I'm a bit too relaxed to be on eBay, I can't do the running around in a flap any more!0 -
Thanks Rosa, I may give it a go when I'm feeling brave:D . Your buyer sounds a bit impatient, I mean 3 times in one day??!!! I must admit I send my items out within a couple of days, but I can get to a post office pretty much every day (except the weekend and Wednesdays - early closing) but if I read in a listing that the seller could only post once a week I'd bear that in mind. Some people want the moon on a stick:rolleyes: . Hope you 'sort her out' soon!!Mortgage: Was: £154,495 Oct 2039 Now: £82,340.34 May 2037Swagbucks ~ £155 (2024 ~ £395)Surveys ~ £149.19 (2024 ~ £280.14)Make £2025 in 2025 #5 ~ £964.62 ~ (2024 ~ £2,561.04)0

can I ask some advice about listing similar things at the same time.
I have 4 pink suits that are going to go on ebay, they aren't identical, so I can't list them like that, but I worry that if I list them all at the same time then I'm going to potentially split the market for them (how much of a market is there for pink suits these days anyway?)
Should I list them one at a time, or have a pink suit extravaganza?Oct Challenges: Make £5 a day - £5.18/£155 Grocery Challenge - £0/£2000 -

On cheap listing days I list blank listings i.e. title to be listed, description to be listed, do this on a 10 day listing and take the next ten days to upload pics and fill in description, this way I list 50 items on cheap listing days and take 5 a day over the next 10 days to fill in details !!! Not sure if this helps but it's my own hair brain scheme...got 25 items ending tonight it's looking like £100 so far not bad considering they only cost me 5p each to list £1.25 in total, not to happy about FVF or paypal fees if anyone finds a way to avoid these let me know
I had an e-mail the other day supposedly from E-Bay offering free e-bay and PayPal fees for 10 lucky winners. As I was caught last year by a spam e-mail that managed to hijack my E-Bay account for a day I was cautious. Turned out it was a spam email!!! So beware. Last time there was a 5p listing day I sat on E-Bay from 9.00a.m. to 11.00p.m. and listed 50 items. However I only sold 7 ofthese items but re-listed most of the others. I ususally list for 5 or 7 days and sometimes give a Buy It now price aswell. What length of listing to others find works best??0 -
rose28454 - Thanks so much, I saw that email and I must admit I nearly followed the link, it's convincing! I can usually spot them, phew! It sounded odd but PayPal do have little things like that, unusual competitions.
All my listings have finished.. But been too busy buying at bootsales to list! When the sun's out, who wants to stay in?! It's going to be a tough challenge this Summer0 -
I had a spam email from 'paypal ' the other week , it looked totally genuine except in the email title it said Pleaze update your details. if i wasnt so anal about spelling mistakes i might have fallen for it but that instantly made me suspicious. Sorry to jump in on your thread but thought it might help someone!0
