Might be a silly question but how do you know if something is vintage to sell it?
Personally, I class vintage as pre-80's but I have been known to list mid 90's Tom Ford for Gucci as vintage. I think the best thing is to have a look online to try and gauge it yourself or if that fails ask those in the know - I find fashionspot ultra useful for those kind of random questions!DEBT FREE AND LOVING LIFE0 -
Depends what it is - I used to run a vintage clothing business and dealt with allsorts. As with all things, getting the age right is crucial
Woodyrocks - Some people class 1990's as vintage now, I can't believe there's even a section for it on eBay. I don't personally think it as vintage as I remember the 90's... Might start lying about my age!0 -
Thanks for the info on vintage - not sure my stuff counts!
Well things have slowed down - have one item with a bid on it but now will spend the next week getting stuff ready to list next week (going on holiday for a week so gonna time stuff to finish on the day i come back)
Have found quiet a few more things to ebay so I'm hoping to hit the £100 mark within a few weeks!New surname New start!

Re: postage - I sold something a couple of weeks ago and when I came to post it, it was more expensive than I'd thought (due to the box being thick and heavy). Anyway the buyer must have noticed this and she sent me a cheque for the difference. That's never happened before in 6 years of selling!!
Bloody hell, that is a very nice buyer!! I weigh all my items before listing to check postage and factor in a few pence for the wrapping etc, but recently, I have under estimated a few, once which was a good few £ more than I had charged. I never even got good feedback for it never mind a cheque for the difference!
I have quite a few watchers on my items at the minute and 7 of them are selling. Hoping to get at least £40 for the phone I am selling.0 -

and now ebay in its great wisdom have decided we sellers can no longer leave feedback unless it's positive!! Grrrr!Sealed Pot challenge #59SPC5 total £473.600 -
I've got myself an awkward buyer - She's bought about 5 items, totally £155. She'd previously asked if I'd be listing similar items, which I did. Then emailed her to say that's it for now but will be listing more of the same in a few months time. So I invoiced her and she emailed to say she'll hang on to see what else I have!!!
I know what you mean about feedback though, you can send reminders though. That's got some of my buyers into gear. I usually say in the message that if there's a problem, let me know as I want to resolve any problems that may have occured.
Oh, not sure if it's been mentioned, but it's free gallery until September!0 -
Oooh I love this challenge idea! I have cleared out bags and bags of junk over the last few months. I'm now wishing I'd done this challenge. Will have a wee look round the house and see what's left....could do with some extra cash! I'll be back if I can find enough to sell! Are we still waiting to sing as hummingbirds?0

With regards to the free gallery, I only use it to make my items stand out (if they are highly sought items), and now its going to be free for a few months, means that no items are going to really stand out so I'm not overly fussed about it.
Rosa - Is she not going to pay you until you list more in a month? I wouldn't stand for that and would insist that she completes the transaction now and if she doesn't, report her to ebay... Fair enough waiting for an item finishing in a few days, but waiting for items to finish that haven't even been listed just takes the *&%! a bit!0
