I think I might give selling on eBay a go as I am trying to raise some money so I can buy some furniture for my first flat.
One thing I do have issues with is how much postage to charge? Does anyone have a good guide on working out how much to charge for postage? I have a small set of scales in the kitchen which I can use to weigh things before I specify a price for postage but can't find the prices on the Royal Mail site!
Thanks
Edit - I have sold on eBay before but it was over 4 years ago and all the prices etc have changed since. ThanksSaving for a deposit: £20,551 / £25,000 - 82% of the way there...0 -

Hi, Go to your post office and ask them for a leaflet called 'pricing made easy'. They issue a new one every April when the prices go up.
Don't forget to add the weight of the packaging, it's amazing what a difference it can make.

Just to add to that: JayMZ, the link is on royalmail.com, and called Postal Prices under the Top Links on the right hand side.

Hello ebayers
I have had an unpleasant transaction recently which has made me wonder what to expect from a seller.
I bought an item ...it never arrived.
The seller kept telling me she had proof of postage and that her respnsibility was to take it to the post office and no more.
I told her proof of posting can only be pursued by her and is her chance to get a refund from the post office - not me.
I started dispute on paypal and got a refund but seller is still ranting about this .
Is she right? or am I ?

bloomers5, you are quite right to expect your seller to refund you. There are however still some very naive sellers on ebay who consider their problems to be finished as soon as they post the item, they soon find out that is not the case.
If you find her rants get nasty then report her email to ebay. Also, just in case you buy and sell from the same account make sure you block her id from buying from you..just in case!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
