Hello all
What a great challenge! I have got out of the habit of listing on ebay as it can be boring but would like to raise money to take the children to Centre Parcs in November. I cannot justify taking this money from normal earnings so this would be a great way of getting there.
Please can I join???
I have recently sold a bed but bought 3 brand new double glazed windows for £31... bargin as the bed sold for £26.... so cost me a £5.
I won't count this in the total - shall we say £400 as that would cover cost of Villa and also a session in the spa for DD and I.
Will list tomorrow.
Thankyou

great idea, I have been selling on ebay for around 4yrs, to start with, it was just for fun and extra money but over the yrs the credit card bills went skyhigh, so it has ended up as my main way of getting through each month between paydays. It pays for the odd daily things you need like milk bread, petrol, but youhave to be careful that you dont overlist or you will run up a big bill of listings to pay for...I find it best if you wait til each freelisting day, very rare these days, and while waiting, put about 20 - 30 items on turbo-lister each day through the month, if you get the time, then bung them all on at the same time on a freelisting day (if 1 comes).. It can be boring listing though, as somebody pointed out. It was mentioned about getting stuff from freecycle, a very good idea, I do that meself..but I will have to find over 9,000 items to sell, starting at 99p each.....I have never really given meself a target to aim for, so this thread is ideal.....I will now try to aim for that £9.000 .. also beware of underestmating the cost of envelopes and posting, I have made mistakes before, aint we all...it aint no good selling something for a £1 and it costs you £1.20 in posting....I know, been there done that a few times.....so strating from this weekend, I have 8,996 items more to list.. just got to find them 1stCorduroy pillows are making headlines! Back home in London now after 27years wait! Duvet know it's Christmas, not original, it's a cover.0

I'll try to list another 20 things tonight. I've got a lot of records to sell for starters. Does anyone sell these, and if so, how do you post them safely?Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -

Please tell me more about this new ebay rule - sellers and feedback.
I'm a bit alarmed
bloomers5The eBay Feedback system was originally designed to provide a simple, honest, accurate record of the buyer's and seller's online experience to ensure safe and satisfactory trade. It was driven by two factors: transparency and accountability. Over time, we found that the transparency of the existing Feedback system makes some members reluctant to hold others accountable. For example, buyers fear retaliatory Feedback from sellers if they leave a negative.
Therefore, we'll be making a few significant changes to eBay's Feedback system to continue to improve accuracy and accountability. Within six months, these changes should help to differentiate and reward sellers who provide a positive buying experience on eBay.
There are five key elements to the new Feedback system being introduced in the first half of 2008:
1. Beginning in February, buyers and sellers will be able to earn up to one Feedback per week from the same trading partner. Today, members may only affect each other's Feedback scores one time, regardless of the number of transactions between the parties. This change will both encourage repeat transactions and reward good service.
2. Sellers will no longer be able to leave negative or neutral Feedback for buyers. This change will occur in May, 2008.
3. Removal of negative and neutral Feedback left by members who are suspended or who fail to respond to the Unpaid Item Process (UPI).
4. Positive Feedback percentage will be based on the past 12 months of Feedback, rather than lifetime, since it is most indicative of the seller's recent performance.
5. Restrictions on when Feedback can be left:
* Buyers must wait three days before leaving negative or neutral Feedback
* Instead of 90 days, members will be able to leave Feedback for 60 days
Not good is it. Buyers will be able to get away with anything as sellers won't want to risk a neg. Buyers patience will get even shorter, you can just see it now, item doesn't arrive 3 hours after they've won so after 3 days they leave a neg for slow delivery cos they know they won't get one back despite the fact that by then their item should have showed up.
It will ruin selling, thats why I am getting all my selling done now, because from May, its going to be awful!0
