What to use on the bath

Hi, I like to use anti-bacterial spray (own brand is fine) and a microfibre cloth, spray it on and leave it for a while before wiping and rinsing.0

Those white cleaning blocks are good on soap scum, the ones that work with just water.
All the scum comes off and makes the bath feel lovely and smooth :cheesy:0 -
Oh, I have this problem too! We have an enamel bath and I thought that the previous people used bath cleaner which wasn't suitable for the enamel, and that the enamel had become pitted. Is this possible? Or is it probably just soap scum with us too?
Ick, I almost hope not, that would mean I haven't cleaned the bath properly since we moved in 9 months ago...Debt at LBM (20th March 2008) £13,607

Apologies for the new thread but I can't for the life of me find where the recommendation came from...
Someone recommended soaking a dirty plastic bath with water and washing powder rather than scrubbing it with various cleaners.
Our bath was really nasty and no matter what we used (flash, stardrops) we couldn't get it clean, we tried the washing powder soak yesterday (put in all the dirty t-towels and the shower curtain as well and it all looks great and the bath is shiny and clean for the first time in years!
So whoever it was, thank you very much!Piglet

Thats good news.
Any ideas for the edge of the bath near the taps. The 'dark' patch wil not budge no matter what its cleaned with.
Hope you dont mind me asking here - as its bathrooms. :-)0 -
Hi popbubble, feel free, that's how we all learn things!
Someone else suggested cloths or kitchen roll soaked in white vinegar and wrapped around the taps and laid on the dirty patches. Don't know if that only works for limescale?
Hopefully someone can help you out!Piglet

I just use a toothbrush and neat bleach round the base of the taps, then a good rinse using the shower, seems to work ok.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

Ooooh! I need to try this! How much washing powder did you use in a full bath? How long did you leave it for?0
