What to use on the bath

You could soak some pieces of kitchen roll or old cloths in the vinegar and then lay them onto the sides of the bath; otherwise it would just run straight off, surely? If vinegar doesn't do the trick, a product called Limelight is very good (but don't tell anyone I told you 'cos it's not very OS!);)0

Great I'll give it a go. Are we talking regular vinegar or white vinegar?
Is my bathroom gunna stink for a few days?0 -
Well everyone says you should use white vinegar but if I run out, I use the brown stuff you put on chips and it's fine
It'll smell a bit but once you've rinsed, the smell will be gone.
Good idea from Scrimperjan about the kitchen roll :TBulletproof0 -

Keep the window open for a while and it will soon stop smelling like a fish and chip shop :rotfl:
I keep a bottle of bathroom spray and a nice clean cloth beside the bath and, after a lot of nagging, have educated DH into cleaning the bath after himself. Make the job easy for people and they are more likely to do it.A friend is someone who overlooks your broken fence and admires the flowers in your garden.0 -
Okay I got me self a couple of bottles of white vinegar & can't wait to do it tomorrow
I'll let you know what I think of the result....

Done It!!! :j And it did indeed came up a treat..."gleaming" just as Tru said. Better still I didn't have to work hard at all, always a bonus that
So what I done was put the plug in, put a bottle of white vinegar in the bath, soaked kitchen towel with the vinegar and placed them around the bath and taps. The worst effected areas (just below the taps) I poured extra. Left it for a few hours removed the towel, gave it a wipe over with a scourer and it came up beautifully. The only slight blemish appears to be where the enamel is wearing but this really is only slight.
Thanks guys I've now got vinegar in my cleaning cupboard :beer:0 -
Hey...I have recently moved into my first home and am new to all of this cleaning lark so please be gentle with me!!!
Does anybody have any tips on cleaning baths? Ours seems to have thick brownish marks on the sides which I cannot get off no matter how much, Cif, Bleach or pure elbow grease I use!!
I've heard that bicarb could do the job but I'm not really sure where to begin.
Any tips would be brilliant.Looking for ways to save

try some biological washing powder sprinkled in a bath of hot water (covering the level where the stains are. Leave over night then rinse in the morning, it worked with mine (plus I soaked the oven shelves at the same time).
