I've just added my left over brie to mince and pasta that I've made! The mince is cooked and just chopped it up and sprinkled it over the pasta. It's yummy

    Mortgage-free Glee!
Cut into chunks, dip in egg, then breadcrumbs. Chill in fridge for a bit then cook in an oven for 10 minutes. Serve with leftover cranberry sauce from Christmas! Yummy!:D
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D
  • I had a recipe where you layer brie with potatoes and leeks and bake it...can't remember it exactly but I'm sure youcan work something out :)

I'm loving the lasagne and red onions idea, I only have regular ones in my fridge but I'm going to look out for some reds with the yellow stickers.

I want to base a meal around the brie so rather than add it as an extra to something that would be nutritious enough without it so the lasagne ticks all boxes.

I have some salad on it's last legs too so that will go with it if I make it sooner rather than later.

Toast one side of a piece of bread. On the untoasted side lay slices of either fresh or well drained tinned pears to cover the bread. Add slices of Brie and top with a good twist of black pepper. Grill until cheese is bubbling. Absolutely fab. It sounds wierd I know but it really is tasty. It also works with Stilton or similar blue cheese. I think it was a recipe in the Daily Telegraph years & years ago that my Mum found.

Oh, that made me hungry, that is so nice, I like with a bit of rocket on the side although at this time of year that would be hardly frugal...
