Congrats Palema, that's great news. It's really good to hear people on here reaching their targets and getting a place of there on.
It helps those of use still saving to see that there is light at the end of the tunnel!
Good luck in getting all the bits and bobs sorted before you move.

Aaaaaaaaaaaargh I'm buying a house!
Well kind of...
OH got a v good offer to part exchange with bovis, so that's what we're doing. They're doing carpets for us aswell, didn't really try for anything else - the house is basically built so we're too late for some extras.
Did an AIP application with Yorkshire Building Society on friday and it got referred so now i'm really worried. We've got 25% deposit and as far as we know perfect credit histories (didn't have time to check, we will do if we get declined this one!).
Bovis were happy to reserve it without us paying any money for this week at least, but now I need to get on with things as they want us in by xmas lol! Scary stuff!
Oh, and when moving day comes we'll be 'moving into Over Drive' heehee :rotfl: brilliant road name!Excuse any mis-spelt replies, there's probably a cat sat on the keyboard0 -

Thanks D9
I'm mega excited!
I have been saving for what seems like years and I have been buying bits and pieces for it for the past couple of years.
I have been making lots of lists and have managed to work out my initial monthly budget as well, which although will be tight I will have to get used to with living on my own! That's the other bit I'm excited about moving out of my parents place after 34 years!!
Good luck with your savings and future house/flat purchase.

Had an 'exciting' night counting my change bottle
Managed to get £56 out of half the bottle.
I've decided to stop looking at rightmove as the houses I am interested in the areas I like seem to be up for sell and sold within 1-2 months.
Seems Birmingham's housing market is pretty health
Still aiming to have £5,000 by the end of the year.0 -

It's probably a good idea to keep an eye on a couple just to see the difference between the price advertised, and the sold for price.0 -

Finally moving into my new flat this weekend after a few weeks of owning it but having to continue to rent while I did repairs :j
There have been lots of ups and downs along the way - upcoming major works with no sink fund to negotiate, walking in for the first time after I got the keys to find a gas leak and rat poo... but on the bright side there was realising that the walls and floors are so thick I really can't hear ANYTHING from the flat above so I can have reasonably loud music on if I want; the feeling of the flat becoming more 'mine' as I strip out and replace everything broken and repaint; and of course the massive improvement in my DIY knowledge over the last couple of weeks
And after all that, I'm still really glad I did spend a few years saving for a deposit and all the effort still feels worth it! Best of luck to everyone here!Saving for deposit: Finished! :j
House buying: Finished!
Next task: Lots and lots of DIY0 -

Your right Dan. Might be an idea. btw do you mean what it 1st came on the market for and then if they reduced it?
Not sure rightmove show the actual sold price?0
