Hi all!!!! Good to see some old faces and lots of new ones too!
I haven't been on here since about the start of 2012 - lots has happened, including me getting engaged and married! Sooo, the savings took a hit, but we did it as cheaply as possible and I am still on course to save almost £12,000 in 2012!I've been totting up and still have one a/c to access (Santander - their ebanking is crap) but so far I'm on (DRUMROLL) £65,339, which is £11,000 more than I had at the start of 2012! I didn't save *that* much pre-wedding, but I've been in saving overdrive since then! :money:
Also, my eBay sales are currently £4,559.89!
OH has about £17,000 in savings atm... so together we have over £82,000 saved

Hi Tara! I had wondered where you had gone! Congratulations! I hope you both had lots of fun!
I was starting to feel like I was approaching Tara-zone (big savings) but you're still well ahead! :rotfl:

Good to see everyone still going! We should be moving in the new year. I thought once we had an offer accepted the hard work saving was over. Didn't realise that buying a house was such hard work too!0

I've had a thoroughly topsey turvey month or two.
First there was the expense of needing new glasses, £250+ down the swaney, also due to constant back & neck troubles I decided to replace my bed mattress, £130 escaping my wallet, then the car's ten yearr service sent £320 into the gutter, to add insult to injury it "failed" it's MOT with the dealer garage suggesting an extra £600 worth of work. I baulked at that to be honest and suspect they're having me on. So I've taken it elsewhere for a second opinion.
With all that nonsense I had to take a whole grand out of my savings account to avoid exceeding my overdraft limits.
BUT then came a wonderful surprise, I came into a modest but extremely gratefully received inheritance of £2k, so have immediately banked most of it, with a view of putting the rest of it away after pay day depending on how my car gets on.
But any rate, I was looking at having dropped to 5k by New Years, yet now I might even break 7k!:www: Progress Report :www:

Thanks Becky! Don't be hard on yourself, you're doing amazingly well too!!! :T

Well done everyone on their savings so far, hope you're all pleased with your end of year savings/targets.
Just a brief update for me to say that it looks like I'll make my end of year target after all! Yipee!
Just trying to work out a target/goal that's both realistic and challenging for next year.
Hope you all have a great Christmas and New Years if I'm not back on here until the new year!0 -

*ahem*
I overestimated what was in my Santander accounts, my end of year total is actually a nice round £62,200 - so I saved a total of £7,858 in 2012! Way less than £12,000, but we did have the unexpected wedding expenditureand we also had to change our car, so that explains it. I will make up for it in 2013!!!!!!!!!!!!
That makes just under £80,000 in savings between me and OH. :beer:Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

I managed to save about £2000 (on a £10k p/a job!) last year but then decided I wanted to go to South Africa and work with lions so now i dont have a penny to go towards a house!
Luckily Im in a much better paid job (£17k) and my boyfriend has saved around £4000 for a deposit so we are slowly getting somewhere.
Its so hard though, we need a new mattress as weve been sleeping in a king size bed with a double mattress for about 2 years, the car needs fixing, Christmas presents need to be bought and my best friend lives abroad so I need to see her too.If you have nothing good to say, say nothing at all0 -
Payday tomorrow and it looks like I should be able to bank £800, which means I'll comfortably break the 7k barrier before the end of the year.
At this time I envisage another two to two & half years until I reach my target amount.:www: Progress Report :www:

Hi,
Have managed to put away £500 this month towards house deposit and hoping to do the same (or a bit more!) over the next few months. Would like to have £16k by the end of March!
Getting there slowly but surely
Happy saving everyone,
D800
