Its sad we have to do it this way; but the economy makes that the only way :( x

Better this way than to have to pay peak price and have a huge mortgage!

Ooooh just found this thread! We've started saving since we moved into our first place in September. Trying to be uber frugal and plough the money away!

It may be a little geeky but im loving it: planning for the future and colouring in my savings plan each month :0) aiming for 5k saved this year (saved 3k last year). :0)
    First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).
New forever home- Sep’21 £309,449 @ 2.05%. Plan to clear it before 30 years!!!!!!

I'm glad too so many people are joining. And hopefully in not too long we'll all be on the Mortgage Free Wannabe Board (then probably all back here for a bigger house ;) )

It's a shame there isn't a 'graduation' thread like on MFW...like how long it took to save, how they saved, any advice, when they completed etc.

As a relative newbie its great to see even more people joining in!

A quick update from me. Had a bit of a splurge/release from saving over Christmas but now its back on my 'penny pinching plan'. January is going very well so far so we hope to pop a bit more then normal into the pot :)

I've updated my signature for all to see.

    Happy savings to you all!
