I don't know if I will ever be able to part with this money it's taken so much time a d hard work! I just want to keep saving it forever! Although I know that would be pointless! Lol0 -

I know it's lot of money! Depends on your area though. We are are hoping to get a 50% deposit. Which still doesn't get much around here.
There was a couple of guys on this thread with well over £100,000 from London I think.0 -

Its just out side London in Essex, I'd like to stay in the town where I grew up but it's just silly. Going to look a some cheaper areas to keep our mortgage as small as possible. I don't like the idea of huge mortgage! I'd be straight on the MFW forum as soon as we buy lol.
It helps a lot that me and my girlfriend are living with our parents and they kindly dont charge us much rent. So we are savings almost all that we earn. I dont know how all you guys manage who are savings and renting!0 -
Pay Day update..
It's not a good one I'm afraid I knew it wouldn't be, Darn car Ins, Parking Ticket, Holiday, new Tyres, mates wedding and what ever else is going to pop up!
A friend made me book a holiday to Turkey today, a week self catering for 203.50 each in Oct. It's not that bad I did save £60 by not booking the extra luggage allowance or the inflight meals, They wanted £30 for a bit of food, going to beat the system and take a pack lunch. I've not had a holiday since last July and I hate taking weeks of work to sit around doing nothing also realised today I have 3 weeks of hol to use by Xmas!
So yes all I've managed to save this mth is 255, feel rather embarrassed typing that. The new total is £6,640, this being due to taking out £75 at the end of last mth to pay for my parents 40 wedding Ann meal, flowers and present!
Going to try and get it up to 700 by end of mth by er selling things and collecting some money owed to me and er any others Ideas I find on here
Roll on Oct a bit of sun sea and sand and better savingsAspiring to be financially independent.... from my parents!0 -
After a catastrophic couple of months we've gone from a couple of grand saved to £158.60. So, start again I guess...
One of my 'friends' seems to think its pertinent to remind me (every time money comes up) that he doesn't pay rent because he lives with his girlfriend whom is on benefits, only paying £50 towards his mums C.Tax for the privilege of "living" there. Its starting to grind on me, the moral highroad is great but tests your patience to the limit! Its unfair that the system almost encourages cheating!Deposit Saved £900/£25,000 3.6% :wall:0 -

Oh I know what that is like I had my friends hubby, try and pop my bubble when I was telling my friend about my saving for a deposit mission. I was informed by him I was wasting my time, not to bother but try and get a council flat or a private rent flat as they are far cheaper and better!! This is the man who lives off Hire Purchase has no pension arrangements and has never been abroad! I'm really going to look up to him aren't I
We will have the last laugh in the end
Thats a shame you have to start all over, Least you didn't waste the money or put it all on red 32Aspiring to be financially independent.... from my parents!0 -

OMG that sounds exactly like my hubby's friend! For the last seven years he has worked full time, living with his girlfriend & child, while she claims to be living alone & getting her full rent paid with benefits. He has had loads of finance agreements over the years for flash cars & lives of credit cards whilst making out to everyone he is loaded! The other week he said to my hubby 'oh you still got that car, thought you would have got something better by now' to which my OH said no we're saving for a deposit. He then replied 'ha! good luck with that, there no chance with house prices at moment'! What the hell does he know!! He owes about 25k out in debts for cars he has had, so probably no chance for him! I will show him though.0
