Payday yesterday!
I had two payrises this month - one which everyone got - a measly 0.4% (effectively a paycut with inflation as it is), which was backdated to August, so that gave me a little extra (I guess £30-£40 in total).
Double payrise! Woop woop! I love April as we always get a little boost from annual pay rises. We got 3% this year
Bit of a blow to the funds this month though. My car needs 4 new tyres which is going to cost be around £400 as they are low profile big sporty ones.
I think i will have to trade my car in for something more sensible in the next few years(

What kind of car Jim? Im getting rid of my car...but cant until October when i can hand it back and cut my £240.30 a month finance payment.
Will be looking at getting a van, most likely a transit as they are an ok price. Bought a mixer today but it will pay for itself with all the homers i will be able to use it for! Looking for more homers to do without taking on too much....got a double garage to do soon, that will be a nice little earner for me and should add £2-3k to my savings! Roll on July for 3 weeks paid holiday(while working homers) so lots of £££ plus when i go back to work after that il be on price work so earning double what i am now!!Work in progress...Update coming July 2012.

What kind of car Jim?
Its a Seat Ibiza FR. All my tyres were fairly warn out and i would have to get them done at my next MOT anyway. I could have saved a little by going for budget tyres, but i always have it in my head that they wont last as long or be as good.
Sadly, on saturday i curbed one of the wheels and took a big chunk out of it so i have to get them done early.Mortgage Free 22/03/17

Oh right, nice wee car though! Not so good...there is online guides about sorting that yourself but i suppose might be better getting it done right. Is it on finance or all yours? I take it you are buying yourself before you need £50K?!Work in progress...Update coming July 2012.

Yes its a nice motorITs a chunk out of the tyre itself that is down to the cords so it needs replacing. Its all mine, i bought it 2 years ago without any finance. Took a hit on my mortgage savings but its been so nice to drive!
Me and my girlfriend are buying a new build house that will be finished in February 2011. The 50k is not just deposit, but also things like carpets and a TV ariel that are not included with a new house
You are doing really well for your age! Keep at it matey. Ive been saving since i left uni 3 years ago. I guess im lucky that my girlfriend has been doing the same.Mortgage Free 22/03/17

Oh right, thought you meant you took a chunk out an alloy aswel as needing new tyres! It is nice to treat yourself though aslong as you can afford to! Well i dont think im doing that well when i see posters with £30k+ like you but i need to remember im just 19 and im not on the big bucks until the summer so 2 years of good money and i should be in the same sort of position you are in now....i was thinking of looking into the interest free loans that have come out with the recent budget but decided against it...want to have all my own money(well mine and gfs) down for deposit.
My expenses will be coming down next year and my income will be up so i just have to be patient and itl all come good eventually.Work in progress...Update coming July 2012.

Exactly! You have to remember you are only 19, 5 years younger than me. Imagine the money you could save in 5 years!!
There is a nice big scratch on the alloy but i wont bother repairing that for a while as its not essential.Mortgage Free 22/03/17

Yeh exactly...was thinking id like to move out by 22,23 but when the time comes i think(and hope) I dont mind staying at home that extra wee while to get more emergency savings and a bigger deposit! Also think my gf will need a bit longer than me to save up to match my deposit so it will work in my favour as opposed to me paying for more than her.
Yeh same with my car, a few things could do with being touched up etc but as im handing car back in 6 months theres not much point in me doing it...unless they say i have to then il be forced to i suppose.Work in progress...Update coming July 2012.
