My savings have taken a bit of a knock as my regular maintenance payments are now stopping from this month, that's nearly £400 per month (about £4750 a year) less that I'm getting

We'll have enough to live on and pay all the bills with no trouble, it just means that we won't be able to save nearly anywhere near what we do now.

I'm still going to try and reach my target this year, some savings are better than nothing in my book.

Oh well, there's still ebay and amazon...:o
    Mortgage: Was: £154,495 Oct 2039 Now: £82,340.34 May 2037
    Swagbucks ~ £155 (2024 ~ £395)
    Surveys ~ £147.24 (2024 ~ £280.14)
    Make £2025 in 2025 #5 ~ £964.62 ~ (2024 ~ £2,561.04)
  • We're trying to save at the moment. We worked out our outgoinigs and worked out we could be saving £1124 a month! OH has no idea where he is spending all of his money, we took into account his smoking/regular activities but couldnt see where he was spending 340 - so hes going to check it all out today so we can come up with a plan. In seven months we could have £7868 in our pot, which will take our total nearly 20,000 which would be enough to cover a deposit and all the fees :rotfl:

I thought our only option would be to go through housing assoctiation, but if we are frugal and save save save i think we can do it on our own
  • Hi everyone and welcome all the new guys and girls who hae decided to save for a deposit!

Just a little update from me.... I should have about £16,100 in total this month - I will have to find out exactly on monday/tuesday - which is really exciting! I really need to change my sig as I have gone past my £15,000 target - I am going to keep saving as there is nothing on the market that I like at the mo.

I am buying on my own, so the more deposit I can save the better! :jI am thinking of 'upping' it to £20,000 and see how i go :j

    Hope everyone is saving well

    Hostie

Payday here too and a significant sum added to the savings pot. Squish your signature has just reminded me that as of April I'm on SVR too which'll hit my savings and the rate at which I was gaining equity. Starting to think I may be able to cover a deposit and fees without having to get a loan from work!

I have just turned 24, I still live with the parents - it took me about a year to pay off my uni debts, had a bit of time spending some money and now its time to knuckle down and save :D I have been saving for just over a year now!
