Hi wanna,
Please don't dare say a word against HariboLook what she bought for me today. I am sooooooo chuffed! :j Thank you HJ, you're the best sister anyone could ask for. :kisses3:
Churchmouse, hugs for you. xx
I had a lovely day with ds1 (14) who was off on a teacher's training day. He offered to walk ds2 to school this morning to give me a breakand then came home and cooked breakfast for both of us. This afternoon he did some weeding in the garden to earn some extra pocket money....It was really good to have a chilling day with him.
We had roast pork for tea, and there's lots left over so that will be turned into something in the slow cooker tomorrow as we're all going to be late home tomorrow night.
Hope you're all well.

Pink, that was a lovely gesture of Haribo...what a caring sharing bunch of folk we are today.
Just be careful though, Haribo may have you 'testing' the machine on some patchwork fabric she has......."Oh look Pink....you've made me a quilt" :rotfl:Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -

If you would like a little fabric to use for your/Haribo's quilt, I should have a bit knocking around, let me know and I can send it on. (You can tell i am still in clearing out mode at the moment):rotfl:

Just a quick post from me. Thanks everyone for your hugs and messages of support:D I still think I was being a baby, but it was nice to be comforted. I've got through today better than I thought, but especially helped because DS1 (in Canada) has just phoned, and he's got a job:j :j :j
:j :j :j Yes I'm the teeniest bit happy:rotfl: He's being very cautious, but optimistically so;) He won't be able to start for at least another couple of weeks (paperwork, because he's an alien:rotfl: but not the little green man type:D )so money is still very tight. But hey, what a relief. ( See, Mum's still smiling down on us:D )
Hugs to all who would like one, especially smoky.
Blairweech, you and OH are stars:D What a lovely thing to do for catowen:T
Csarina, the rest of the country will be putting their clocks forward at the end of the month. Might be an idea to join in, especially if you want longer evenings:rotfl:

Evening all - I know that's dixon of dock greenish but there was actually a new remake thingy on radio 4 today
Well I can't wait till Torchwood day as dd11 nattered all through Delia - honestly i pretty much watch martin and match of the day and that's it for me all week so why is it that when I want to watch something - GGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRR! well I shall be breathing and typing loudly and worse on wednesday. Thought Delia was dire btw.
took dd to The Works for some bargain watercolour stuff, met dd18 and dgs3 randomly so I bought him some paints too and we had a jolly evening ruining nana's table cloth - hope poster paint washes out. Went to the sewing shop too which was less bargainous - the owner knows me too well and even though i only popped in for some needles she showed me lots of lovely shiny things but I restrained myself and only spent £24- expensive needles eh?
anyhoo - must go - back to w*rk tomorrow - hugs to allI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -
Hello everybody,
Seem to get later every day...hope that you had a lovely birthday RacyRed...need another cake??:bdaycake::bdaycake:why not have 2...you deserve them.
Sorry to hear of storm damage, but glad that it was only 'stuff ' and that nobody has suffered any personal injuries.
Hugs to all with problems, hope they get smaller
Wasn't feeling the best this afternoon so had a snooze which seems to have righted things...all his life my late FIL took a rest after his lunch and he lived healthily until about 3 weeks before he died at 95...maybe he knew what he was doing.
Glad to hear that the neighbourly spirit is not dead Catowen and Blairweech.
Night all, sleep well, talk to-morrow

Hi guys,
Having had several good days OH has had problems with his O2 levels today. He desaturated this morning down to 45% and had to be hand bagged to raise his levels (apparently the bagging applies more pressure to open the lungs), however this was somewhat unsuccesful and despite plans not to they had to turn him back on to his belly again. He improved slowly but desaturated down to 56% whilst I was there and needed bagging again. He has slowly improved over the afternoon and evening and his sats are looking a little better.
The anaesthetist paralyzed him and scoped his lungs to see if his airways were clear - which they were - and found a small amount of pus in the bottom of the left lung. He took a sample of this for the microbiologists and OH has been started on some vancomycin for infection. If he does develop any markers of infection they will have to stop the steroids as they supress the immune system. It is unclear at the moment whether or not the steroids are having any effect. When I asked what had triggered todays episode he said that OH has a very severe case of ards and this is what it does.
In all other respects there appears to be no improvement.
In all of the cuffufle today I did not get to see anyone or even get him a renewed sick note, and worse of all somewhere this afternoon I lost an entire hour. Scary stuff as it has never happened to me before. My sister rang me on the train to ask why I was not at the station to be picked up and I told her she had got the times wrong. It turns out that I had got it very wrong and it wasn't until I looked at the bus ticket that I realised.
I have an appt to see the gp tomorrow, hopefully she can give me something to help.
I left a chicken casserole in the sc for the kids and my sister in law picked them up for me after school. I still have to iron their uniforms but I have tidied up and polished their shoes.
I hope you are all well and safe after the winds.
