OS Daily 10th March, 2008

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 10th March. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Hello
My plans changed today. I was going to do the shopping but I'm going in early tomorrow. So I washed the floors, made bread & butter pickles, ironed. I washed also but we've just had a heavy shower go though & it's all wet now. I was [strike]gossiping[/strike] chatting to DD on the phone.
I also started a new ball into my current dishcloth while watching Oprah
and the first stitch is a bit loose and funny. Obviously I didn't do it right.
CM Big sloppy kisses & :grouphug: for you on the anniversary of your Mum. Mothers hold their children's hands for a short while, but their hearts forever. :kisses3:
MrsMix
I was actually scrolling down to see what everyone else had written. :doh:I'm first.
Hope you all have a lovely day & <hugs> to those not well. Byeeeeeeeeeeeee
Last but not least Happy Birthday Racy Red :bdaycake: Hope you have a lovely day.

Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.

Good morning AUSSIE - or evening in your case! I loved the words about Mums. I wonder if your shower was as violent as the storms hitting the UK right now! 80mph winds have been forecast especially near the South West coast; it's not that bad here in Hampshire but I think places like Cornwall and Devon will be worse. It coincides with the high tides so they've predicted flooding. I hope it does not get as bad as predicted. It sounds pretty horrendous outside as I type.
I still haven't knitted a dishcloth - lots of other things, but not a dishcloth! I did find two balls of dishcloth cotton so I think I'll start making one - it'll make a change from the fiddly little toys I'm making. I must also start making squares for balnkets; I've got loads of small amounts of wool left over from projects that are not enough to make anything on their own. I was supposed to have spent some quality knitting time over the weekend - I had promised myself that but, every time I tried, I dozed off! I'm going to do minimal work today and treat myself to the afternoon knitting. I have two things that just need sewing up so will get those done today.
SMOKY - thinking about you.
CM - :hello: :hello: :hello:
(((Hugs))) to everyone who needs or wants one.
Today's dinner is HM sausages, mash and beans so that's nice and simple; I can prep that first thing. I have to go to the bank and the gym and then try and keep the rest of the day to myself.
Well, off for a quick surf - hope everyone has a great day and that no-one suffers from the storms.

Good Morning All
LearningtoSave - hope everyone feels better soon.
Smokey - (((hugs))) & best wishes as always.
Very windy here but as far as I can see no damage at the moment, hopefully it wont affect our travel plans today.
Need to take DD to London for hospital appointment, OH is dropping us off at the station then taking DS onto school so we all need to be up and out early - will finish on here then wake up the rest of the house. She has one appointment at 10.45 & one at 3.30 so will be probably go to Oxford street in the time inbetween. Think I will take her for lunch in Garfunkels. Also I can be on the look out for my birthday pressie which is in a couple of weeks.
Not looking forward to coming home on the train at peak times.
Needless to say will be something on toast for tea tonight - quick and easy.
Have a great day.

Morning. Not much in the way of wind here. I think by some quirk or other we are sheltered from the main storm. It's barely breezy outside, yet several miles away they are showing force 10.
Day off today, I need to clean out the hen house. I also have to play musical credit cards and get car insurance. So a moneysaving morning for me.
My bro wants me to shift a load of stuff with my trailer, but I won't be doing that in the rain. Although it's dry at the moment.
We will see.
Well time to make sandwiches.NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -

Morning everyone
It`s a wet and nasty morning today with the wind lashing the rain into everything.
I can`t believe how much rain we`ve had overnight, it was running down the roads in big rivers as i came to w**k.
Not too much planned today when i get home later i will be walking the hounds who no doubt will get very muddy, then i`ll need to empty the wm and dw, the bm had finished before i left so there`s a lovely 50/50 loaf cooling in the kitchen for later.
Last nights meal was a huge pan of beef stew and we didn`t eat anywhere near half of it so we shall be having the rest tonight so thats no cooking for me later.
Happy Birthday RacyRed (can`t do the cake as i`m editing so i don`t lose my post) Hope you have a lovely day.
Huge ((((hugs)))) to Smoky, things sound a bit more positive, i think of you an awful lot - i still have my fingers crossed for better news for you and your family.
Right off to do some w**k.
Have a happy Monday everyone - try and keep dry if you have the wet weather too.
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -
Morning all
Wet & windy here & I don't mean hubby, I finally got the extra work done, it took 6 hours rather than 4, so I'll charge for that.
Hubby should be working a few days this week, so I hope he doesn't get rained off.
Katy's still applying for jobs, lets hope she finds something.
I hope everyone has a good day & that those of us who are in the really story area are all safe.
Hugs Hester

morning all - hmm - ussually see N9aev before now - hope all is well and you've not been blown away. Just heard on the news that South West is worst hit and many homes are without power - oh there's N9aev - we cross posted- call off the search parties - unscramble the helicopters etc etc
Well my plans this morning were to cycle to the Town of Many Charity Shops but it's blowing an absolute hooley outside - that and the rain have put paid to my gardening plans as well unless it cheers up a bit.
Hugs to all and happy birthday RacyredI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -

Took the mince out of the freezer for ranchero pie tonight, and need to put a loaf on when I get home.
