Hi again!
Happy Birthday to RACYRED - have a great day!
Well, the weather is truly dreadful and I know we aren't getting the worst of it here. Hope everyone else is OK?
I've just discovered that it is called Storm Johanna - giving it a name doesn't make it any better, does it?! They had said that it would be at its worst in the early hours which would have been better for most people; I just hope it eases off during the school and rush hour. They've warned people not to go out but I have to go to the bank and draw out wages for DH's sub-contractors - it's not fair to keep them waiting. Luckily the bank is not far away and the supermarket is next door so I can pick up some milk and then I'll come home. I had intended having a shower once DH had left for work but I'll wait until I've been out, I think.
I've done my good deed for the day anyway; our wheelie bins are emptied today (two of them). I didn't put ours out yesterday because of the high winds so DH has just put them out now before leaving for work. My neighbours had put theirs out last night and they had both blown over - the recycling one had emptied its contents all over the road. I picked them up and also all the spilt rubbish and hopefully they won't blow over again. I couldn't leave them because he is in a wheelchair and she has enough to do and they are both getting on in years. My DH was putting our bins out and said I looked like a raving mad woman in my dressing gown with a pair of his huge work boots and fleece on picking up bits from the road!
Well, I suppose I had better go and do something if I want to get out early.
N9EAVE - I do hope you decided not to go down to the harbour today - the wind is probably at its strongest where you are.
Take care, everyone, please.

Morning All
Weather's setting in here. I've been awake all night listening to the howling winds, but it's slowly getting worse.
I'm sick too, hardly any voice, sore throat and chesty cough. Shouldn't really be at work, but as my colleague's on leave, I have no choice but to be here.
This is my 9th working day without a day off. They'll be in for a shock when I claim back all the hours the owe me in one swoop!!!!
Definitely tell we're getting to the end of the sprout season. We had some with dinner last night and they were huge and very strong in taste. Didn't like them_pale_
Going to the theatre this evening, weather permitting of course.
Hope everyone's okComping, Clicking & Saving for Change0 -
morning all,
Terrible storms here up to 80 mph winds and sleet, things are being thrown about the garden, we have an old tin bath which we keep on top of the shed, which is used at parties to keep the beer in, any way its been thrown across the other side of the garden.
Student girl I am going to keep dd at home today, trains are all delayed, and do not want to drive that far, its about 15 miles away, so safer at home I think.
OH not gone on his bike, not safe today, think he might be rained off later.
Essex girl safe journey xx
Learning TS, hope you all feel better soon xx
Happy Birthday to Racyred xxx :T :T
Kathy enjoy your afternoon knitting xx
Hugs as always to smokey xx
Going to have a roast today as we did not have one yesterday, so roast lamb and all the trimmings today. Will not venture out at all today, better at home I think.
Aussie I made savoury impossible pie for lunch yesterday, I can't believe it sort of makes its own pastry, and it was delish, so thanks, might make a sweet one today xxx you are an :A , ( well in the kitchen anyway)

Morning all :hello:
I've had more than 1 person say to me that they'd like to stay home and get paid for reading blogs, I think it's a great idea, do you think it'll work? It'd defo be my ideal job
N9eav, I was thinking of you yesterday. We go to Cornwall every year. We were in Mevagissey in october 2004 (maybe 2005?) when there was a spring tide and a big storm. We were in the Shark's Fin and the barman said we could have a quick drink and leave fast, or get locked in for a couple of hoursSea was up by the shops, bins were floating, locals were trying to rescue a car that was parked on the harbour and was about to be washed into the harbour and kiddies were playing with rubber ducks in the middle of the village
Me and miss tru walked round to Portmellon, never seen waves so big
Smoky
Happy Birthday Racy :bdaycake:
Wet and windy here, I NEED choc so will have to brave the weatherI've got the house to myself today so will get a lot done.
