We have been lucky, we have the rain, but the wind appears to be miminal just now. OH said it was ok when he was at the funeral, it stopped raining long enough for the service.............I always think that funerals are even worse when its raining and blowing a gale. Our crem is always freezing cold at the best of times...........we don't need wind and rain as well...........
I did manage to hoover up and flap the duster whilst he was out, had to empty the hoover, sorry dyson, it was getting rather full. I need to have a look at the filters think they might need washing and I really ought to look at the beaterbar, I bet there are loads of bits of thread wound round it...........I usually have to get the scissors to it and cut through then pull them all off.
Neither of us slept very well last night, so a quick nap after lunch.......OH is doing a jigsaw of the death of Nelson, its a copy of a painting........seems to be getting on quite well with it....but he has trays of bits littered all over the floor, I had a quick nap was just going under when the phone went, end of nap!!!
The daffs I bought from the allotment are out and looking really nice.and my mothering sunday flowers are still going strong, ven the roses which makes a change.
Not sure what we are going to have for tea/supper.........cheese sandwiches, or corned beef with sauce.....and ginger cake.............OH needs to go out just after 6pm for his meeting.
The clocks go back at the end of this month, so lighter nights...............and hopefully some sun????????Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Afternoon.
Thought I'd just catch up before I set off to my Monday evening jobI've had a text to warn me how much work is left
Steady drizzle here at the moment, I think we've been fortunate so far with the weather. I'll enjoy my drive along the promenade past the Riverdance ferry, which is still beached.
Blairweech how lovely of you and Oh to offer to assist Catowen with her fence. :A
I too feel that this board and thread is full of such kind and thoughtful folk.
Miss Twit is off school today, she was up a couple of times in the night with D, she is still fast asleep in bed now.
Mr Twit has no work on at present either, so after spending all night surfing, he has slept most of the day, somehow I feel this pattern is going to keep repeating itself  . I was asleep last night until he found a website that had some awful music on it, I think I need one of Csarina's Grrrrrrrs.
Oh well, I've loitered enough, back later.
Love and hugs to all The Twit :grouphug:Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -
Afternoon all
Been without power, on and off, for most of the day, just hoping it stays on long enough to cook dinner - will get DD's fed as soon as big one comes in and DH and I can always make do with something cold later.
Weather really has been vile here, they've closed the port both here and in France so all the freight is now parked on the motorway, DH will have to go miles out of his way to get home again - as some of the French ferry workers have been on strike for the last week, this has been and will be the norm until after Easter, it's not fair that they cause so much hassle. It took DH 2.5 hours to do a 45min journey nearly every night last week, no fun.
Managed to get one load of washing done and had a swish around with a damp cloth but the rest will wait until another day.

I completely forgot to say earlier, as I haven't posted for a few days - Smokey, I am so glad there has been an improvement with your DHWe must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0

Hi PenPen,

I always save the first few lines if i`m on a different pc after losing a couple of posts and then edit to add the rest, assumed i couldn`t add the smilies etc as i couldn`t see how to do them.:D I never can see beyond my nose half the time.

HariboJunkie wrote: »Just popped back to say, it was only a matter of time but in case you missed it Churchie and Wanna, someone has posted a link to Breadmaker !!!!!! HERE.
XXX rated and not for those of a nervous disposition.
WOW I have just found heaven - thankyou Haribo:T I particularly liked the video of the easy bread recipe even though it was about 8 mins long it was good. The guy in the first video posted was a little boring and got on my nerves so I got as far as watching him put the flour in and switched off. Nobody takes that long to fill a breadmaker pan with ingredients do they? even if they are demonstrating for film:rotfl:
You may laugh but even my DH is starting to feel my breadmaker love is getting out of hand. His eyes nearly popped out of his head when I came home with yet another breadmaking book from the charity shop on saturday:o :rotfl: He shook his head, rolled his eyes and walked away (still doesn't stop him eating the results tho!)
Had a realy busy day today, got wet taking boys to school, got wet picking them up but in between did some realy hard work at home. All stuff for first car boot of the season is in the garage and boy was there a lot of junk! It took three and a half hours to sort it all out as well as clean and tidy the room (the dust mites were taking over and had to be culled)
Dinner tonight is baked pots with beans and cheese pots in oven slowly baking as we speak - nice and easy need to have an early night now after all my work. It was easier going to proper paid work last week at least I could ignore the mess by shutting the door on the way out:rotfl:
Got to take boys to karate in a min so better get going.
Catch you all later

Afternoon all
Hope you are all dry and warm, it is disgusting here. Luckily DS thinks it's all a bit of fun coming home from school in it and I have waterproofs and wellies. Made a yummy brocoli soup for lunch and put some brie that needed using up in it. Have hidden the rest from OH just can't bear to share it!
Chickpea curry is nearly done, will cook some rice in a mo. DS is eating huge ammounts at the moment, so pleased, I used to really struggle getting breakfast down him. Taking DS to karate later. Lots of studying done. OH has found the job he wants to apply for has finally been advertised, it would make such a difference to us and would mean he comes off shifts, which would really simplify life.
Catch you later

CATOWEN - that was such a heartwarming post and BLAIRWEECH - you lovely kind person!
POOKY - your poor DH - mine hates getting stuck in traffic but that sort of delay must be so frustrating.
DLB - congratulations on the footie - that's brilliant and well done DS3!
Well, I've done some knitting and some sewing up, worked out bank charges for DS2's friend who is now owed almost £900; he'll be delighted if he gets it back (fngers crossed), even though we now have to wait until around August for the outcome of the test case, according to Martin.
The wind dies down one minute and the next minute makes me think the whole house is going to take off like it did for Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz! It's rained quite a bit, as well, and the sky is an interesting mixture of blue, black and grey!
Oh, well, the kettle is calling me so I'm off for a cuppa! See you all later.

Hi again all
just caught up with the rest of the thread, sorry to hear about your fence Catowen - ours vanished last week in the 80mph gales  and we still haven`t replaced it, it will wait until the weather is better, it was at the side of the house but there is another gate further up so we won`t have any escaping hounds when they nip outside.
The weather has been awful for most of the day with a lot of rain, it`s actually stopped right now and i was considering walking the hounds but DH will be home soon so i`ll wait for him so that my hand gets chance to rest.
The big monster hound still pulls when we first go out so that will make it worse and i need to try and not use it so much until it`s better, i`m planning on a soak in the bath later but not until DH is in for the night as i went in yesterday and couldn`t get myself back out again as my hand was so painful, it`s annoying that i`m having to think like this but at least it got me out of peeling all the veggies yesterday
Hope everyone further south is ok with the weather - keep safe and warm.
N9EAV - you`re very naughty wanting to sneak out to peek at the waves but i think that i would want to go too.:D
