    Evening All

Just a quickie from me as I am at work.

Haven't had a very productive day as had to drive to my Mums & back (100 mile round trip) to collect our dog so haven't got anything else done, she did give us a fab roast chicken lunch though.
Following on from yesterdays news about Spud, the really good news (in a manner of speaking!) is that last ngiht the cap appeared in his nappy....!
Still don't feel like I have found my feeet at all yet after last weeks chaos and am actually feeling totally overwhelamd at the mo so am trying to think pro-actively about how I can deal with it & am considering getting a cleaner just for a couple of weeks whilst I get things back together. We can't afford it out of our income but what are savings for if not to promote & protect our health & well being at times like this? Not OS in the short term but it should help with the long term...I hope! Off to research local cleaning companies now.

    Happy Old Style Monday everyone;)

    Afternoon all
    Hugs to Smokey
    Happy B'day Racyred
We had to call the police to school yet again today, it's beginning to get beyond a joke.
I've been offered 3 sessions of lunch duty, @ £8 a day & I've been given some extra work again, so I best crack on.
    Hugs Hester

Lilibet....If I were closer I'd come and help out for a bit........but you have to do what you have to do, if getting a cleaner in whilst you get yourself back on your feet is the way forward then go for it, at least you've realised where you need the help - that's half the battle won. If you want a rant then feel free.

Blairweetch - How lovely of you to help Cat - again if I were closer I'd help.

DH left work at 5pm and has travelled 10 miles......one of the roads nearer home has been closed too as a lorry was blown over and now there's fuel on the road.......it's times like this when I really do appreciate that I don't have to go out to work.

    Evening!

Well I think we got off lightly with the weather here. It was wet and windy last night and it's been raining on and off today but once again we've been lucky.

I kept DD1 off school today as she still has a sore throat and as she can talk for England, there was no way she would rest her voice at school! :rotfl:
I did the food shopping this morning and picked up a few bargains in Asda. They have some really funny special offers on at the moment eg. 1 mulitpack of walker's crisps for £3.17 or 2 mulitpacks for £3. So I picked up a few extras that weren't on my list but will get eaten over the Easter holidays.

For tonight's tea I made chicken, bacon and mushrooms fried in (Campbell's) mushroom soup served with tagliatelle and it was a huge hit and very cheap to make too. :D
I'm off in a minute to wash my windswept and damp hair.
    Have a good evening!

Evening everyone, don't think Edinburgh has been too badly hit by the storms, it's just wet and miserable up here.
Smokeybabe I'm glad there has been some positive news about your OH, am still thinking of you.
I spent the day at the hospital waiting to have a trace done on the baby cause my blood pressure's been up and the baby has not being moving all that much. Nothing wrong, which I could have told them, but I guess it's better safe than sorry. I have no complaints at all about the NHS care I've been given, my midwives are so vigilant.
Had a good weekend, I've got the fabbiest in-laws who came and cleaned my house from top to bottom. I am so grateful cause I just don't have the energy for that kind of thing at the moment....then one of them babysat for me all day today while I hung around the hospital.
Hope everyone has a good evening.

OH has just come in, he has had to cancel the meeting, cannot get into the club. It appears there is a big fire in the town, fumes drifting on the wind, so the police have closed the roads all round. He had to turn round and come home....now I have lost the remote control to the TV. I picked it up when I got up to answer the phone. I thought I had put it on the settee, but its nowhere to be seen.......oh well I will have to change the programme manually on the box...............its a mystery where it has gone. It has grown legs and walked:eek:

I have cut round the scallops on the two pillow cases, will sew them up tomorrow and then stick them in the washer, starch and iron them so they look really good.............I kept the packet for them so I can re-pack them :D:D

Right off to drink the cuppa my OH has just brought in......:T :T

PS Found the remote on the window cill under the curtains, I did not put it there so obviously, when I thought I had picked it up I hadn't......another myetsery solved..................

    Hi Everyone,

Hope you are all well apart from the wind and rain.

Hugs to Smokey and all those in need, esp children who seem to put things where they shouldn't!!

Happy birthday to all those I have missed since my last post, I am sure you all got spoilt the OS way.

Life here goes on the same as normal nothing too exciting to report apart from the delivery of my breadmaker :j Only got it when I came home from w**k so will set it going overnight so that I can wake up the smell of lovely fresh bread - Haribo I think I might be another 'breadmaker lover'!!:o I blame Wanna it's all your fault for saying how wonderful yours is:rotfl:

Beef casserole tomorrow so that will be an excuse for setting the breadmaker going before I go to work so that I have lovely fresh bread when I get home - can you see a routine here!!;)

Right off to put all the ingredients in and do the veggies for tomorrow.

Hugs to those in need and :hello: those those who don't!

    Have a good evening all.

  • Hiya all,

Suesy Sue - Haribo is a secret Breadmaker !!!!!! addict. She posted a link to a breadmaker !!!!!! site in post #46:rotfl: I don't know how she finds all these dodgy links and she reckons we're into that sort of stuff when she's the one who finds it all the time.:p :D

I have finally got a glut of bread:rolleyes:  The breadmaker has been given the day off;) Those breadmaker welfare police can't do me now:cool:

Bought my 12 yo neice a book called how to sew for easter, she rang me and asked me to look out for a tailors dummy cos she wants to be able to design and sew her own clothes, so must actually get onto freecycle and see if anything is available, failing that maybe ebay? Don't know how pricey its going to be but its probably a birthday present hint:rolleyes:

Hope you are all enjoying your evening. Think i'll do some more sewing. Am currently among other things, making slippers out of a book called Sew Pretty Homestyle - a very shabby chic type of book. I love it. Got it from my local Sussex Stationers for £7.99 and worth every penny. Gotta get on but might just wander onto the shabby chic thread again before i go.

    Evening all.

Haven't had time to read all the posts, so apologies. Hugs to anyone who wants or needs them.

First day in my new role today - went well. Only had 4 meetings, and worked in three different buildings...! Tomorrow should be a little quieter, only two meetings and one site.

We've been ok weather wise, just really heavy rain. Sounds like a few of you have had it rough - hugs and hope it doesn't get any worse.
