Well my target is 9st, so a bit to go.
I am doing WW on my own at home, weighing myself at Boots with one of their fab cards that records your last 10 measurements.
I should be between 7st 4 and 10st 1, so I thought 9st was a nice target to aim for. Before I was marrried I was between 7st 7 and 8st...I don't think that's possible now !!
I'll see, if I get to 9 and I feel I want to lose at bit more, maybe I'll pop to a meeting and get some proper advice.
As someone who never had a problem with my weight, until now (well last 4 years). I can totally empathise with being overweight and wanting to lose weight/losing weight. It's a real bummer.
(((((hugs))))) to everyone with big tums and bums.:happyhearSaving £'s :money: but losing lbs [strike]11st 6lb[/strike] 9st [strike]13 [/strike][strike]12[/strike] [strike]11[/strike]8.5 lb:j0 -

Oh yes.....meeting DH and having two kids. I was a size 6/8, never had a problem with food...never even thought about it...then bang...well kind of crept on I guess...and I was a size 16/18...and people always asking when the baby was due....
The Boots card is great, its a Weight Monitoring Smart Card with BMI and Body Fat %. I totally recommend it, especially for money saving.:money:
It costs £1 at the pharmacy counter, and it saves you 10% everytime you use it in the machine, so I pay 53p I think (I don't do Body Fat  ) It comes pre-loaded with 1 free vend. It retains an updated record of your last 10 weight readings which print on to your ticket (Oh and it keeps your very first original weight)
I got a WW Handbook on eBay and away I went.
p.s I don't work for Boots :rotfl: , but I am not sure how well known it is !!Saving £'s :money: but losing lbs [strike]11st 6lb[/strike] 9st [strike]13 [/strike][strike]12[/strike] [strike]11[/strike]8.5 lb:j0 -
Evening everyone!
Have finally made coffee cake and done some ironing (plus dusting and tidying living room). Then DH came in from DD1's school play and said that coffee cake isn't his favourite:mad: . I was TRYING to be nice!
Please can I join in on the weight thingie?? Would like to lose 6 pounds. My problem is work - when we get stressed (which is often!) we dive for the chocolate and biccies. Also the HUGE temptation of lovely school dinners is sometimes too much to resist! Any hints or tips of how to deal with that would be great!

Always be prepared for someone to ruin your healthy eating plan !! Have Bananas, Grapes at the ready. I find having something on standby when I am hungry and need a snack or someone is offering cake around....if I have some nice raspberries/prepared strawberries in a little box, it works a treat (oh no I am lying...I look daft...but slightly smug at the same time).
Oooohhhh, cold boiled eggs, sitting in the fridge, ready and watiting.
If you just want to lose a few pounds, how about cutting out bread for a few weeks....Saving £'s :money: but losing lbs [strike]11st 6lb[/strike] 9st [strike]13 [/strike][strike]12[/strike] [strike]11[/strike]8.5 lb:j0 -
Time for bed I think. Will have a quick listen to Ladies of Letters (forgot it was on this morning!). Isnt the internet a fabulous thing?
Pigpen - give me a boot up the bum tomorrow please. I've been surface cleaning all week and I really need to get my bottom in gear. Oooops, that reminds me, left the grill pan steeping in Stardrops. Better rescue it.
Night ladies, sweet dreams and big hugs xx0 -
My boring day will follow after I've replied to what I've followed on the thread today:JillD -My birthday is also 17th May
And if we can both do the weight loss thing what a celebration. What age will you be on your birthday this year ? oh is the 1969 thing a giveaway - in which case you are one year wiser than me

mudbath - :rotfl: at the oven glove LOVE IT oh yeah and :rotfl: also at your DH having to sit through the recorder renditions ha ha oh and major  on the plumbing thingy . yuck.
and tre searching for choclate do you do the thing I do - open a cupboard and stand and stare. No, no choclate. Check the fridge. Check the cupboard again. !!!!!!. As if anyone will have magically made some appear :rotfl:
ooh ooh and ... my friends DD broker her arm just before they went on beach hol. They used to stick her whoe casty arm in a plastic bac fastened with an elastic band at the top over her arm so she could go in the sea. Perhaps a big bag or a bin bag with hair bobble or elastic band at the top and then you could go in the shower/bath a bit easier. Whay do I have so many things to say to you ...???
oh oh and woo hoo join in the weight loss fun!!!
tia - who's your gas care with ? Ours is British Gas, we got a carbon monoxide detector from them when they came to fix something , said it would cost £45 though our neighbours got one from them free. Anyway the guy left it with us and noone ever charged us. That was over 6 months ago. Might be worth asking ?
FrankieM - don't weigh yourself at home between weigh ins ! Naughty girl! Your weight will fluctuate up and down in the week depending in what/when you ate, water retention etc, and may even fluctate between weeks sometimes. You want to be looking at an over trend (ideally downwards!) over several weeks at least. Also make sure you are eating enough (as opposed to too much LOL, if you don't eat anough your body goes into starvation "I don't know when Ill next get food" mode and clings onto all the fat. At leat that'd what they say. I have never had that problem :rotfl: Do you want to be included on our min weight loss gang and post weekly how you are doing on here (their is a Weight Loss thread but I can't "do" two threads so am doing it on here).
tracy - maybe DH will have the trots all night from the rich food and a hangover tomorrow :T
juliejim - poor DS ((((hugs)))) hope he's ok. How did it happen?
nsn - that Boots thing sounds fab. I am about to start having to pay for WW again which will cost £17 a month if I do the direct debit thing. I am seriously tempted to do the Boots thing for a month whilst posting on here and see if that yields better results. I know all the WW stuff inside out, there isnt much I can learn thats new but I do find the support of others helpful which is where this place comes inAnd if you want me to add you to our weight loss list so I post your success in the table let me know
