Hi, after reading this thread for inspiration on what to do with chicken breasts...I have decided to put some cheese in them and wrap them in bacon and cook them in the oven. I want to do them with berbeque sauce so I was just wondering...is ok to put the barbeque sauce and cheese, then wrap in bacon and cook...or should I put the sauce on after theyre cooked? Don't know if the sauce will go funny if I cook it in the oven.0

Brisket is lovely I put mine in a big stew pot with chunky slices of onions, mushrooms, carrots, celery and parsnips cover with boiling water add salt and pepper and just let it simmer for a couple of hours with the lid on, then I make a lovely gravy with the water. The Gravy that has not been used can then be frozen and used as a base for a nice soup or stew.Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Well folks as the title suggests Im a bit clueless when it comes to cooking and basically the only way I have ever cooked a chicken fillet is in the george foreman...........oh or the wok if I am making a stir fry. While both these ways are fine I absolutely deteste cleaning my george foreman and was thinking there is probably some way they can be cooked in the oven.
Can anyone help? Like I said I am clueless (but willing to give just about anything a go!) so would probably need pretty simple instructions! lol
Thanks
Linz xoxoxIts hard to wait around for that something you know may never happen, but its harder to give up when you know its everything you ever wanted.........
People tell me Im going the wrong way..............when its simply a way of my own!0 -
Oh there are as many ways of cooking them in the oven as there are chicken fillets:D
You can do them as a parcel ( in foil) in an oven set at 180 C for about 20-30 minutes (obviously, depending on size) You could top with a pesto paste. Or tomato salsa. Or grated ginger and onion or leek. Make a cheesy breadcrumb mix and pile that on top and bake on a baking tray. Make a mushroom sauce and bake in a casserole dish. Put in a dish, on a bed of spinach leaves, surrounded by cherry tomatoes and garlic cloves, drizzle over olive oil and bake for half an hour ( this is lovely served with a salad of mixed green leaves, cucumber and warm new potatoes, drizzled with walnut oil)
Can you tell chicken breasts are one of my staples?:rotfl: :rotfl: Seriously, most will cook in half an hour, just go wild with your accompaniments;)You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -

Stuffed chicken......Cut a ball of mazzarella into small slices, and in a bowl mix with some grated mature cheddar and a couple of teaspoons of wholegrain mustard. Cut the side of a chicken fillet and stuff with cheese and mustard mixture. Wrap chicken in 2 slices of streaky bacon (per fillet) (don't wrap bacon too tightly, but enough to hold mixture in chicken. Roast in over at 180c for around 25 mintues. Serve with green beans, carrot batons & rice or potatoes.Cat :wave:0
