I have just called the Edmonton branch and they have confirmed that the store will open at 6am for all customers (Ikea Family and non-Ikea family card holders). Only those with a card will receive the free breakfast.
Good luck!0 -
In the T&C's, it mentions that:
"Customers who are unable to complete their kitchen purchase on the 19th April (due to increased sales volumes) will be issued with a 21% discount coupon, (to allow the option of completing the purchase at a later date). Coupons will only be issued on the 19th of April. Customers must return to the store and present the coupon between April 20th and May 4th 2008 to complete their transaction"
Does this mean that they will only give out these vouchers at Midnight, or will they give them out during the day to people in the (huge) queue?
And can I use my £10 off if you spend £60 with this offer?
Any Ikea staff replies would be appreciated!!0 -
With regards to the "come back another time" voucher, I am banking on this, as I really cannot see me fitting the 3grands worth of kitchen into a renault scenic.
Am tempted to try first thing in the morning, and then go back last thing at night as:
a) in the morning the kitchen planners will be swamped so more chance of a voucher
b) last thing at night hopefully the stock will have run out
Am I mad?0 -
Did anyone read the T&C's, namely the bit which says:
..."The offer is only available in-store and will not apply to on-line purchases. Discount will only be available to IKEA Business customers who shop in store."

Does anyone know where I can download a copy of the kitchen catalogue from? The online one isn’t right???

Thanks!0 -
Have just telephoned the warrington store to see if they will let me make an appointment with a bedroom planner.
They said they do not make appointments at anytime and this works on a first come first served basis.

I spoke to a couple of people in the kitchen department at the Coventry store about the vouchers.
I asked if you could use them for anything else you bought at the same time as your kitchen, and was told you cannot.
I asked what was counted as part of the kitchen, and was told everything "integral" to the kitchen was covered by the voucher. So cupboards, doors, draws, appliances, worktops. I asked about internal fittings / organisers, and they weren't as sure about this. The second person told me with confidence that it wouldn't cover "nick-nacks" when I asked if the hooks and things for hanging stuff on the wall were covered by the voucher.
I was also told the following weren't covered by the voucher:
- tables
- chairs
- lighting
I was told this with some confidence by the second person I spoke to, but he was loud and Canadian, so probably sounded confident about most things.
Also, it seems that you will be able to pick up the kitchen vouchers at any time on the day, irrespective of stock or queues. You will just need to go along to the kitchen department, fill in a form, and take a voucher.
I was told the reason they were doing them was that the kitchens were a big purchasing decision, and needed to be planned out carefully, and they didn't want to cause stress for the staff or customers.0 -
Oh, there is also a notice in the Coventry store that the customer returns department will be closed on the 19th. Just though I'd share, in case anyone was planning on returning something at the same time.0
-
With regards the delivery service, here is what I was told when I phoned customer services today: they will be offering the delivery service but not the same day delivery service. So everything will be delivered Monday. I asked whether it was likely that deliveries would be delayed and might arrive later in the week but the rep I spoke to was adamant all deliveries would be completed on Monday.
We've actually managed to hire a van for Saturday that's less than the cost of home delivery! Result!0
