I bought a 10l bag of compost today from Woolworths as Lidl were sold out.
  • try lidl £1.49 40l bag and give it a good fertilising as you go liquid manure is excellent to give em a good start then your compost will have some goodness in it anyway.

For the nth time - please don't assume cheap compost is necessarily good compost. There's no sense in saving a pound on compost and losing five pounds worth of crops.

Walk down any high street today and you'll see dozens of people stuffing their faces with all kinds of cheap junk from bakeries etc. It's the same if you visit the supermarket and look at what's being purchased by some consumers.

If the people who feed themselves cheap rubbish are also those who buy bargain basement compost, then at least they are being consistent! ;)

Makro if you have a card,J Arthur Bowers £5.99+Vat for 200litres Its buy one 100litre bale and get one free.
    Otherwise
Wickes do 75litre bags 4 for £12.00 and it seems like good stuff not twiggy or barky.
