We bought one from www.memory-mattress.co.uk (7cm memory layer) and it's been the best investment on any household item that we've ever, ever made. I've been sleeping so very much better since we got it. The only disadvantage for me is when I stop at a hotel/B&B that has regular mattresses, I don't sleep as well.
Mattress snob, that's me
I've actually been told by an osteopath that the best type of mattress for support is the pocket spring/memory foam combination. She also said that if you can't afford one then pocket sprung only rather than any other type of memory foam mattress would be the best option.
However I'd like to add to this by saying that anyone who likes a soft mattress wouldn't find memory foam suitable, as memory foam has to be high density to work properly. So in this case pocket sprung only would be best.0 -

Coolmax used on mattresses is actually a bit of a gimmick. Coolmax works fine in outdoor clothing where the wind cools it down so that it can then act as a refridgerant, and keep your body cool. You don't tend to get much wind in the bedroom (unless you have been eating beans). Coolmax will feel cooler when you get into bed, but if you wake up in the night you might find that it has warmed up.boots_babe wrote: »Best thing I ever bought, since buying it I have had much less back/neck pain and have been far more comfortable in bed, can't be just a coincidence.
It isn't a coincidence, it is a fact that a good quality of memory foam mattress gives you better support. You just have to be wary of all the cheap quality ones out there.0 -
Has anyone come across a company doing king sizes in 190cm length? We've got a bed from the continent and that's how long the mattress is supposed to be - the current one is too long by about 4".
You will find that most independent manufacturers will make mattresses in continental sizes. You would be better off using an independent seller to act as a go between, as many of the big chains can't be bothered with special sizes (or charge the earth for them).0 -
Where could you get a free trial period in case you didn't like it? Surely no-one is going to take it back after it has been used. We are looking for a new bed and intended to try memory foam. However all this chat is putting me off!0

Well actually there are a few sellers out there who give a 14 day satisfaction guarantee. Then if they are returned they auction them on ebay as items that have been tried out and returned.0 -

We are looking for a couple of 3' divans for our spare room - can you suggest a make that has memory foam and pocket springs (and doesn't get too hot!)

Well..........what bed do you personally sleep on?A shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man who does not exist.
