Thanks again Jemzz90, Think we will be going down the trading standards & card Co route as well. Good luck with getting it all back..let me know how you get on
Just a bit of a shame that scam or not, tickets real or not, they still keep £30 for the cancellation fee. Assuming the bulk of the folks trying to get these tickets are young/ student types, this is just what they (Don't) need.
Assuming you "three?" "employees" are still out there earwigging on this..May the powers of darkness rot your socks.
Just another thought: http://www.bbc.co.uk/consumer/tv_and_radio/watchdog/contact_index.shtml0 -
well I wonder whether they are just hiking the cancellation charge because I presume more people have been phoning up for a refund due to the concerns which we have all raised? When I telephoned today and asked for a refund, initially they didn't seem at all phased which is a little odd.
ifiwerearichman.. thanks for all that advice, your local trading standards seem to be far more interested than mine! I'm just a bit confused about the matter of the PO Box address, did you not write to the address in Mayfair on their website? Or is this a PO Box address?0 -
Quote-IfIwerearichman
'1) Write (not email) a letter to the company & send it recorded delivery, in the letter DEMAND that they send the tickets to your address via recorded delivery ( as they charge £10 pnp anyway), explain that you can not collect from anywhere and that recorded delivery is the only option.'
Might be worth quoting statement 13 from the FAQ at the bottom of their page:
13)When do you take the money from my credit card?
Before taking any credit card payments, we make sure that the tickets you have ordered are with us. Here at summerfestivaltickets.com, customer care is our main priority.
If your money has been taken they MUST NOW HAVE THE TICKETS! Therefore there can be no reason for them NOT to send them the week before, otherwise of course they will be breaking their own contract or making a fraudulent statement.
See also statement in 1) who the heck are the UK and Americas ticket Association they claim to be working under the authority of?0 -
Looks like there are other disgruntled customers out there, these comments are in relation to Ticket2bethere which has to be the same company:

Hi Gezmmz90
Re the PO Box address thing..
Allow me to explain... I have traced the address to a Legit Company called Mail Boxes Etc.. who specialize in sending packages around the world etc.. & who offer PO Box addresses..
So By simply asking Royal Mail who was regestered at the Summerfestivaltickets address (*according to their website) they informed me that it was Mail Boxes Etc....who do offer these PO Box services...
I am in town tommorrow on business & shall be visiting this address armed with my trusty camera.... WATCH THIS SPACE !!!! :oO)
As for REFUNDS??? can I ask... has anyone actually seen the money refunded on their CC yet???
And Phobe03cat.. good point. I will.0 -
Certainly looks like it...nice to see they were successfully sued though. Off to contact Virgin official site in the morning.0

This makes dismal reading! However the moderator on that board has said that the situation is being investigated. I've reported this twice to mse and so has someone else. Is there a moderator around pls who can confirm that the situation here is being monitored and investigated? Thanks
and this one with a specific ref to summer festival http://www.sunrisecelebration.com/tickets.html0 -
you're getting as bad as me! I've been pursuing this all evening, what a waste!
I just can't get my head around how they've been going for so long. I know that other site made reference to them being sued, but that obvioulsy hasn't disuaded them from continuing to trade. I assume they do fulfil at least some of their orders surely not everyone could just write their money off?
I've now found 7 different websites which all belong to them
www.offthewalltickets.com
www.summerfestivals.com
www.mayfairglobalevents.com
www.tickets2bthere.com
www.chinaolympics2008tickets.com
www.hongkongsevenstickets.com
www.europeanchampionshiptickets.com
as well as their Durban Vienna site. Anyone for the olympic games?!0 -
