i bought tickets from here would you suggest trying to stop the payment? how can i find out if its for real?

You pays your money... Personally I wouldn't use the site but thats not to say it isn't legit!! ;)
    :D
  • Has anyone got a list together of the fraudulent sites and the aliases/other trading names they go under? Might be worth putting a list together and we can add to it as we come across them. That way, people who aren't too sure can always check to see if the site they are looking at is on the list and then avoid it like the plague!
  • so is there no way that i can tell whether its a scam then? do i just wait and see?

There is nothing to say atm that either company won't be able to supply the tickets and it is of course legit in so far as having a registered office/bedroom somewhere, but the big question appears to be on the total lack of security of your card when using the site and of course the lack of communication.

Well I foolishly booked tickets from this site, as above post states there's no way we can know whether they will supply them right up until a week beforehand which of course would potentially be too late. But I'm extremely annoyed with myself for booking them in the first place, I always look out for sites being secure - except on this occassion where I was so desperate to make sure I got some tickets I ignored all measures of security!

Are we to assume that the reason they answer with only 'hello' when you call is because they have a million and one different dodgy businesses operating from the same office and wait for you to tell them which one you're calling about?! Has anyone actually cancelled their tickets and if so did they charge?
  • Has anyone got their money back yet?, and is there any indication on what the cancellation charge is to be?

No I'm not an AE, I'm just a hacked off old git whose daughter has, according to most folks on here, probably got ripped off. (on top of the normal Govt uni student rip off)

I was told £30 per ticket tightoldgit, although this was after having to 'call back in half an hour' as advised to be put through to the 'accounts department' who from what I could tell, turned out to be one of the two scousers I could hear the first time round! I'm not sure what to do, I've spoken with trading standards and the fraud enquiries team from my credit card company, both of whom are looking into it. What are you proposing to do?
  • Just a quick query gemzz90: are the card companies OK with holding on for that length of time? i.e money taken in early March, tickets not due until August...or are they just interested in non-delivery after the promised date, however far in future that is, as long as it's been reported in good time? Thanks.

Well I assume the latter as I gave them all the details, that is, when the tickets would be due and when we would expect to receive them. But I understand your point and I think I will call them again to reconfirm this for my own peace of mind, I'll let you know how I get on.
  • Good evening all, I have just had a very interesting conversation with my local Trading Standards rep. She has informed me to do the following & I strongly suggest that all those who, like I, have fallen for this Short Con..

    1) Write (not email) a letter to the company & send it recorded delivery, in the letter DEMAND that they send the tickets to your address via recorded delivery ( as they charge £10 pnp anyway), explain that you can not collect from anywhere and that recorded delivery is the only option.

    2) Call Post Office Box Tracker line on 08457950950 to confirm (like I have done) that this so called swanky address is indeed the address of Mail Boxes Etc,, ( a legit international mailing company whom I have used before for Ebay & who are very VERY Legit indeed..)who hold a PO Box for SFT.com.They simply send on all communications to SFT.com at undisclosed address, the only people who can demand this address is the Trading Standards or POLICE!!!

    3) Call / write Email your story ? complaint to your own local Trading Standards office who will, if enough of us kick up a fuss, look into it.

    4) KEEP EVERYTHING.... KEEP ALL EMAILS SENT & RECIEVED, A DIARY OF PHONE CALLS & COMMUNICATIONS ETC....

    5) Make sure you build up your case as if going into a legal battle, as you may very well have too.

    7) Finally, PLEASE PLEASE PASS THIS ON it is just so unfair that these people who have no MORALS get away with it..

FTR- The "Secondary Ticketing Con" is worth approx 1 million Ponds pa... according to Word Magazine...KEEP YOUR MONEY SAFE ... hope to see you all at V & watch out for more sales of V tickets FROM V officially in the next month ( heard it from an inside source) :)
