The Advantage Card machine gave me a voucher for 50 extra points and I used it along with the 50p off coupon (or 50 extra points, I can't remember) from the free Boots magazine with no problems. I don't mind that it's a case of extra points instead of actual money off because I would spend a fair bit in Boots from time to time anyway.

By the way, I got a BLT from the Delicious range and it lived up to its name.

    Thanks for the tip.

I agree that it might not be of use to everyone but a lot of people will make daily savings from the offer and I certainly can't think of where else you'd get a sandwich, 500ml bottle of Coke (etc) and bag of Walkers crisps for as little as £1.39.

Even if you don't buy your lunch in Boots regularly, it's good to make use of this offer if you are doing a shopping blitz and want to avoid shelling out on a pricy lunch in the city centre.

I work at Manchester Airport and get meal deals from their T1 bootsmost days - only no machine.

I do like playing the meal deal game with myself, where I try to get the highest saving off the meal deal, my favourite products being something like a tikka wrap for £2.50, Innocent vit C smoothie for £1.89 and one of the cakes for about £1.10. Gives me great satisfaction if I actually save more than the meal deal cost itself !

I continually try to pursuade my colleagues to give up their bottles of coke and get something like the innocent smmothies or the 500ml fresh orange - much better for your health and the feeling of satisfaction is amazing !
  • I've noticed that as well, no machines at either terminal 1 or 2. Maybe a few phone calls to Boots? Given the number of people who pass through M/cr airport, a lot of them must be Ad. card holders. About time this situation was changed.

I bet they wouldn't put an advantage machine in the airport boots because they would want to maximise their profits taking 'advantage' of their captive audience.
Nuts just take up space where chocolate ought to be.
  • I thought the coupon in the magazine said something about not ncluded in meal deals? like the salad coupon boots snet me in my last lot of mailshot coupons?

drat you moneysavers you are makign me hungry for a meal deal but i will have to SPEND money not SAVE to get to the Boots that actually sells the things, which is unfair.
my advantage_card is like gold dush
  • My points on advantage machine are always the same for weeks. The offer on advantage card machine in area where I live is 25 points for a meal deal which is not really worth it. I telephoned boots head office to see where this 100 points was and they had no knowledge of it at all.
  • Our vouchers have only been worth 25 points in Hull - they've been at that rate for three months. I guess there must be regional variations?

Thanks for this tip - I printed off my voucher today and got 150 points! When I handed it to the cashier she was amazed as she said she only got 25 points. So it really only cost me 78p for a red meal deal - chicken tikka wrap, cranberry flavoured water and shapers chocolate bar - and less than 400 calories too! The full price of these items alone would have been £3.53 so it was a real bargain.

I'm going back tomorrow to see if I can get the same deal!
