  • OK well i got a really quick reply and I think Boots are realising I could be a bit of a difficult cusotmer because they are now going to hand my emails not only to the the store planners but also to the advantage card marketing team so here is hoping A they can target my coupons more appropriately to my store so that i don't get ocuposn for Meal Deals that languish in my wallet so long they run out and B that perhaps they might be kind enough to send me some nice coupons in the mail for all my bother but will not ocunt on that happening - however it seems that they are taking me more seriously since i went a bit more whingy on them so that seems good.

BTW How come I *when I have a rleation in tow so CAN use the bonus machine* never get a coupon for anything less than £20? I never ever get any for £10 or £15!

What really surprises me is that people are prepared to pay over-inflated prices at Boots to get a few points on their Advantage Cards. Then use their Ad Cards to pay for over-inflated, horrible tasting sandwiches.

I used to work for Boots for over 15 years.... believe me, even the staff with discounts cards (22%) don't shop at Boots!
Well, I buy Boots Meal Deals as they're the only place where I can! I'm a coeliac, and Boots do either gluten free sandwiches (if I get there before they've sold the 2 or 3 they seem to stock) or sushi!

You are lucky to still be able to get the gf sandwiches, both my local Boots no longer seem to stock them and when I ask the staff they just shrug their shoulders or recommend the lo carb option which makes me furious as I cna see no connection with lo carb and gf! Like you I am a coeliac and was over the moon when I first saw the gf sandwiches, I really thought that at least I could be 'normal' and eat a sandwich lunch with my work colleagues so am disappointed they seem to have stopped supplies.

I have called HO who firstly told me that it might be because they are very popular and sell out quickly, so I started going in to Boots before 10am in the morning but the staff told me no gf had arrived. Another call to HO and I was told that it was up to each store to do their own ordering and mine really don't care.

I'm on a CD list and the same problems with these sandwiches have been reported on there. Also, someone did post that some Starbucks now carry these sandwiches in the same packaging, but they seem few and far between.

I do sometimes eat the sushi as although it is not gf I think the only gluten is in the soy sauce so I leave that, but my Boots hardly ever carry sushi either.

    Soo

Thanks Money-savers - I've just been to Boots in Sutton (Surrey) where the Advantage card reader gave me a voucher for 150 points with a meal deal. In addition there is a voucher in the back of the current magazine giving 50 points with the purchase of a sandwich from the 'Delicious' range (one of the more expensive meal deal options), so I had a triple-decker sandwich, an Innocent smoothie and a slice of chocolate tart for the equivalent of 99p! As I also bought some shower gel on a BOGOF offer, taking the total to over £5, I was given a voucher for £2 off digital and film processing! I don't know how Boots prices for film processing compare with others but as my son is too lazy to go anywhere else I shall give him the voucher...

As I already had a £1 Boots voucher received for answering a few questions on crisps in a market research survey I think I'm well up on the deal.
I'm a newbie at this but I can see this money-saving thing could be seriously addictive.

    Cheers !
  • Got me lunch in Bradford today. Got a voucher at the machine - 150 points not 100, bought £2.99 meal deal, got an additional 11 points. Effective net cost £1.38.

I can only find them in the really huge Boots in town, which involves a slight detour. They did seem to be in all of the Boots in York though, so perhaps they get them all!

As far as I'm aware it is only the soy sauce which contains gluten in the sushi. And it's yummy!

I've never seen them in Starbucks, so thanks!

But M&S do really nice gluten free muffins, so you could have one of those to console yourself.

I have applied for my boots card and I still havent got it. I cannot use the temporary card in the machine, can I??? What do I do? I do shop at Boots regularly for lunch...Is there a way around this?
The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.

Only 25 points here too. =[ My green meal deal is usually £2.99 ... but to use the advantage card machine I had to go to a bigger boots (about 200 metres away, both in Uxbridge) ... the bigger Boots actually had a different price for green meal deals, £3.30!!! So infact, even with the 25points voucher, I ended up 6p worse off than usual! ... maybe I could have printed the voucher in the big Boots, and taken it to the small Boots? Do they accept vouchers from other Boots stores I wonder?
I hear the cry of the silence around me.
  • I went in to Boots in Leeds city centre yesterday lunchtime and found that the only voucher on offer was for 25 points, not the 100 points mentioned in this article. The Boots staff did not know anything about this offer.

    Mortgage-free Glee!
although it says 'one per transaction' or something on the voucher, if you buy two meal deals and present two vouchers in one transaction, you will get twice the points (worked for me anyway!) and, of course, you get the £2 off photos voucher too cos you're spending over a fiver!

i only had 25 point vouchers but that did manage to give me over £2.50 discount (2x25 points plus the £2 pics voucher plus normal points) for two meal deals!

    result! :)
