I am going to class. My first class last week took so long with the talk for newbies etc that i didnt get to even ask about the mag but i did see some people with it.i have a few mags that i bought last yr. I have now made up my mind to have a chow mein with a glass of red wine.
I am on red days for the 1st week. though i love pasta rice and potatoes, so maybe when i get a bit more into it i can change over.
is there anything i could have from the chinese that would be low on a red day ? or do you just count anything like that as Syns only ? i looked in the book and it said chicken and cashews 8.5 is that a takeaway portion size ? i can hardly ask the girl in the sit it to weigh it for me.......lol
how you doing at sw angie ?0 -
I'm quite enjoying it - I enjoy the freedom to eat large portions of the sort of food I like
I tend to not 'eat' my syns.....only drink them!! Tonight (red today) I am having roasted guinea fowl wrapped in bacon (F), served with fondant potatoes (B) and roast red onions (F) - I will probably do something interesting with a cabbage too
Tonight is also cocktail night, exciting as we are trying a new one, The Bramble (gin, cassis, lemon juice, sweetner, soda crushed ice) which I think I worked out at about 3 syns (I will recheck that in a bit) and we will share a bottle of wine (12 syns each).
As you will note from my sig, I am on the slow journey - I joined in April and have lost 1st 2.5lb, same again ish to go, but I will get there, and this is just so much more pleasant than any other 'diet plan' I have followed before.
I shall look up chinese for you on the website - did you get the password at class?0 -

Morning all, this is my first post on this thread (im usually found in the Boots forum) I joined Slimming world in March and lost 2st 1 lb in 3 months. I really loved it and found it easy after the first week. I was never hungry (unlike some other weight loss programmes)
However since moving I havent had the chance to get back to a class, due to no babysitters and lack of cash. But I plan to go back this week as I have managed to put one of those stones back onIm also getting my oh into it, he loved all the recipes I made last time, and was a good guinea pig. But we are both doing it together properly this time.
Does anyone know do I have to pay the joining fee again or just go back to weekly class payment? tia
and welldone to all your weight losses so far, ive read back a few pages and picked up some good advice and ideas already, and its getting me geared up for going back to class. :T:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
Morning all,
Does anyone know do I have to pay the joining fee again or just go back to weekly class payment? tia
:T
Hello:hello:, Yes you will have to pay the weekly fee again I'm afraid! Otherwise you would have to pay for all the classes you have missed since the last time you were there! Good luck with your rejoin!

I am really struggling today. Have been reading the book again for inspiration.
I had a bad day yesterday, went to the chinese and had Chicken Chow Mein and while waiting for our table had a small bottle of red wine. shared a bottle with our meal and met up with friends after and had approx 8 vodka.s
Got up this morning - well afternoon really.....had 2 sausages , 2 slices of nimble toasted and a scraping of half fat butter, 1 tomato and egg fried in spraylight and a small quirt of ketchup
Also had 2 cups of tea, 2 carrs water biscuits with dairylea light, 1 ww carrot slice
and just had muller light and banana.
Reading that back it looks horrific......i may just bite the bullet and list it all
and start again from today.....AS IN NOW
I am hoping this will all kick in after a few weeks......i think our Sw girl said the password changes on sunday is that correct. I have the code up to sunday but cant remember the new password to this thur as thats what day my class is.
I should have said i am on RED all this week as the girl said for someone just starting Red would be easier ???????????0 -
Hiya
I don't understand why you would be recommended to start on red - whilst it is great for some, for others it is a nightmare. The plan works well regardless of red, green sticking with one or changing it about - you have to do what feels right to *you*... and you are struggling arent you?
Have you thought about tomorrow yet? Easily the best wasy to deal with SW is to plan ahead - by thinking about (and writing down) your plan for tomorrow, you will be less likely to fall off the rails.
My plan for tomorrow might give you some ideas - tomorrow will be a Green Day, and I have planned for 8.5 syns.
B fruit (SF) and yogurt (SF), tea using milk from HEA
L jacket potato (F) and sweetcorn (F) and 28g cheddar (HEA), big salad, lettuce, toms, cue and celery (SF) fat free dressing (SF)
D Mashed potato (F) mixed with cabbage (SF), roast parsnips (F), slow cooked beef (HEB) casserole made with with carrots (SF), onions (SF), beef bovril (SF). Gin (2.5 syns) and slimline tonic (SF), 175ml wine (6 syns)
During the day I will drink 2L water, drink lots of tea and will aim to eat 2 more portions of fruit as snacks.
Today I have had a red day, total 8.5 syns:
B fruit (SF) and yogurt (SF), tea using milk from HEA
L 'brunch' - 3 x 3% morrisons eat smart sausages (0 syns), 4 grilled tomatoes (SF), mushrooms (SF) cooked in frylight (SF), scrambled eggs (SF and milk from allowance), grilled bacon (F), 2 slices wholemeal from 400g loaf (HEB). Fresh raspberries (SF).
D Roast duck (F), roast pumpkin (SF), mashed potato (with skin on = HEB) mixed with cabbage (SF), cauliflower (SF), leeks (SF). Gin (2.5 syns) and slimline tonic (SF), 175 ml wine (6 syns)
2L water achieved, must try to have another piece of fruit later, maybe with a chunk of cheddar (A), drank lots of tea (milk from HEA)
Hope these ideas help0 -
Hi, password last 2 wks, when you go to class buy sw magazine before class starts, also look at free food book and any past magazines.
Are you filling in the food diary, you have to for 4 wks, your sw consultant will
check it every week just to see you're on track.
Instead of having water biscuits, try the pagan wholegrain krisprolls, they are really lovely - 3 allowed as HB red or green Drink plenty of water-free lol what sausages are you having, be very careful most are very high in syns.
Good luck0
