    Lets see if this helps...

The amount that you type in the 'package/portion size' box is the amount it will give you the syns for.

So if you want to use 1 tbsp, put in 15g
If you are going to use half the bottle, type 155g
If you want to use the whole bottle, put in 310g

That way, you can see the syns for the amount you will actually use

thank you so much. that is so so helpful :D and it makes perfect sense now and will help out loads

OK I have had a pants couple of days so need to fess up. My MIL had a stroke on Wednesday so we have been at 6s and 7s this week - all meal planning out of the window. On Thursday DD and I decided to treat ourselves and had KFC for dinner. Then yesterday it was her school speech day, and I had hot dog and chips to sustain me through the speeches, a sponge cake AND an eccles cake after, and cheese sandwiches and a bottle of beer in the evening having decided that the day was wrecked so I'd best do it in style LOL. (Did enjoy the beer though - not had one for months!)

Back on the case this morning (I find weekends easier as I'm not rushing around like an idiot!), so I'll hopefully rectify the damage soon.

I think part of my problem is I've fallen off the end of my meal plan as regards lunch on work days, so I need to do some more planning. I find work meals really hard, as I have an active job so need to eat plenty to keep my energy levels up, but I'm so busy I don't get much time to eat. Rock and hard place, anyone?

Off to do some vigorous cleaning to work off the eccles cake!

do you have any kitchen facilities i.e. microwave, fridge, toaster etc ???? sending best wishes re MIL. wishing her a speedy recovery.

I hope your MIL is feeling ok, 2cats1kid.

I need some help today! Im doing a red day and am cooking roast beef with all the trimming for the family. Im not going to have a yorkshire pudding and this doesn't bother me and I also will do without the roast spuds and am having new potatoes with skins instead. However, I always cook our beef in lard and put some of the juice in the gravy. Can I still cook the beef in lard and put the gravy on my plate before adding the juice? Don't think hubby will like the beef cooked in fry light.:o Also, is Bisto counted as a syn?

Ive had Sainsburys low fat bacon with scrambled eggs followed by a peach and a Mandarin mullerlite yoghurt for breakfast and so don't want to ruin things by cooking dinner the wrong way! Help!

    Kettle available every day.

    No other facilities on Monday.
Fridge and microwave on Tuesday (also a proper lunchbreak on Tuesday - I like Tuesdays :) )
    No facilities Wednesday
    Fridge on Thursday
    No facilities Friday

So my typical lunches are :
    * cottage cheese salad one day (this is not great as salad takes a lot of eating and I just don't get time to eat it, often as not)
    * can of ravioli (Tuesday) and a mug shot as I work late Tuesday and have mug shot as a snack late afternoon
    * rice salad/pasta salad
    * sandwich if I can spare the B option for the bread
I do sometimes make the SW quiche and take slabs of that in with me.

I take fruit (normally 3 pieces) and 3 Babybel lights and a Mullerlight, but I'm just getting bored to death of lunches. That's the time I'm likely to think "stuff it" and go to Tesco for a ready made sarnie or a pasty or something! (I am a total pasty fanatic, which doesn't help!)

I also tend to do green a lot as I'm not a big meat eater, which again restricts me a bit. I'm thinking a tandoori chicken sandwich would be nice, but then that would be my meat for the day and I get a bit confuzzled by mix2max.

If I did a breakfast of say Mullerlight and couscous, then a tandoori chicken sandwich (bread = HeB) with my usual fruit and stuff as snacks, then a predominantly green dinner with a HeB of meat, would that work for mix2max or have I got it all wrong?

Can anyone tell me why I can't have frozen peas with my dinner? They're not listed as a free vegetable.

They are free on green, but are an HEB on red.

Peas (and sweetcorn, parsnips and potatoes) all contain more carbohyrate than the free vegetables, and this is probably the main reason that they are limited on the SW plan to the green days.

That's right - what you have described would be:

    green breakfast,
    red lunch (+B)
    green tea (+B)

snacks would need to be superfree (fruit) or HEA (cheese etc) or synned
  • Hi folks, I was active on this thread many moons ago (well, earlier this year) and thought I'd come back!
I've been doing sw since January, but with a gap of a few months April - June. I've lost 2st 13lb so far which I'm really pleased with but a depressingly long way to go!
Nice to see some familiar faces on here :)

Blimey! They don't make it easy for you do they!!!

Another good lunch to consider would be a homemade soup in a thermos flask - great for the days you have no facilities, and even if you don't stop for a proper lunch, you could drink it on the go... You could make a big batch at the weekend, freeze it in flask sized portions, and heat in the morning (from frozen) and put straight in the flask. I do something similar to this, and by doing a big batch each week, now I have lots of different flavours in the freezer so that I don't have to take the same one each day ;)
