I like my red wine but have these huge wine glasses so 175 ml (6 syns) seems about 2 mouthfuls!!!!!!

I find it annoying as how can it be so calorific when its something you drink?!!

Alcohol is very high in calories and they're 'empty' calories, i.e. they don't provide anything nutitionally beneficial. I think SW tend to load foods that are high in calories but low in value by making the syns very high, so you eat and drink less of them.

Having said that, you may find that you can drink more than you're 'allowed' to and get away with it, providing everything else you do is 100% - it's the scales that will tell, if you don't lose weight you'll know you need to be stricter with the red wine.

Thanks for asking, LL. She's doing better. She can talk now, but a bit slurred and still some problems down one side, but hopefully will make a full or near full recovery. Worrying bit is stopping a recurrence, really.

Made a killer curry tonight. Chicken curry with rice and a potato and cauliflower side dish. Made it too hot for DD though (oops) so she had meatballs and rice instead!

    Right, still at Mum & Dads (OH gone sea fishing :rolleyes:) so here's what I've had so far;

Brekkie - Baked beans (F) and fried egg (in frylight) (F)
Lunch - Fat free yoghurt (F)
Dinner - Pork chop (V small but don't know weight so assume HEb  ) with cabbage (F), carrots (F), mash (F though prob had a splash of milk HEa) and pork had a bit of sweet n sour on it - estimate 6 syns

So I have a HEb and a HEa left for snack tonight - cheese on toast?
  • Hi girls! Can I join in? I took the plunge, and went to my first SW meeting last Wednesday, so its my first weigh-in this week. Im finding it kinda easy so far, I started on a green day, followed by 2 red.

    Hi all!

  • Well, i have had an up and down day today.

Breakfast - scrambled egg beans and toast (HEB)

Lunch - apple (had very late breakfast)

tea- pasta with HM sauce, raspberries.

Milk allowance taken in tea and coffee. But I did have a packet of crisps, a can of coke and two squares of chocolate!

Roast for tommorow so that's easy!

    morning everyone

I had a good day yesterday so thought i would post my menu choices.

    Breakfast

2 fried eggs, sainsburys bacon medalions (free) and large flat mushroom. used worcester sauce which was free instead of my usual sweet chilli sauce addiction.

    Lunch
HEB Jacket, SW tuna pouch (1 syn) and 28g HEA cheese plus 30ml of sweet chili sauce.

    Tea

Slimmiing World Beef Madras Curry (served on its own :o) i.e. I had no rice, no naan bread or anything. Next time i would save my HEB and made a few chips or something cause although it was very very tasty, it wasnt the same without something with it.

    Pudding
Mullerlight lemon and passionfruit yogurt, Choc Orange Hi Fi bar and some raspberries.

    Snacks

    Red Grapes

    Alcohol
10ml Lime vodka mixed with diet tonic and a huge slice of lemon
    100ml Red wine

Im really pleased as I think Ive managed to stick well within my 10 - 12 syns limit.

Im going to suss out another curry for my OH to make next weekend :rotfl:what do you suggest as an alternative to rice ?

Today should be ok too although do you think I will be able to have my jacket chips and eggs for lunch if Im having a red tea? been invited to the mother in laws for roast tonight but thats not till 7pm so thinking I could have a filling lunch of eggs and loads of jacket chips treating today as a mix to match day. One of my HEB will need to be saved for my spuds tonight - can I use the other HEB for some ham at lunchtime?

Im undecided what to have for breakfast and might just snack on a couple of mullerlights later.

have a good day everyone :D
