  • Tractor girl you look brilliant!

Well I have had my 1st day & so far no syns!!!
    B - Bran flakes from HE's
    L - Ham & tomato omlette
D - will be chicken with a baked potato & veg.

My questions so far are -
What is the password all about?? Is there a website with lots of info on it??

If I have a fave recipe what is the easiest way of working out the synn value etc?? Is there a tool on the website?

Firstly, well done on starting SW.

The website is great, has lots of recipes, ideas, progress charts, syn calculators etc. You get the password at class.

Love the sound of your plan today were you following Original (red?)
B - Bran flakes (HEB) milk (HEA)
    L - Ham & tomato omlette
D - will be chicken with a baked potato (HEB) & veg.

you have used all your HEs well, but you should try to use some syns each day - my consultant recommends a minimum of 5 daily - either as a treat (hot choc at bedtime, glass of wine etc) or as sauces / oil / butter etc etc

AND you could eat more than this if you fancied - cheese on your potato tonight (HEA), big salad with lunch, fruit or Muller yog for pudding (or both!), snacks of fruit, veg or meat on a red day (chicken leg, crab sticks etc etc!) and it will only see you losing weight! This diet is NOT about being hungry!

Hope you enjoy your stay here on the board :)

Would your older one eat chicken or turkey mince? Then you could do a shepherd-type pie with chicken in the bottom for everyone.

She doesn't like the texture of mince so won't eat it in any kind of meat.

I never thought of having meat and potato! I was trying to find ways to have one or the other! Good idea. Thanks!

Flushed with (at least partial) success, I'd suggest that if you're struggling you keep posting and we'll try to simplify it. Sometimes its easier to see more clearly from the outside.

So both the HEBs are different every day, so 14 different HEBs? Is that right?

I've looked at my menu plan and I have 8 or 9 different ones each week, but where I have cooked a chicken (for example) I'll have it as a HEB with pots and veg one night and then maybe with pasta another night. And some things I make extra so I can have leftovers for lunch the following day, so some of my HEBs always double up in a week. Good challenge though. :)
