Do all meetings follow the same format? The first half hour in mine is taken up with weighing and waiting for people to come in who are late. There isn't anything to do after you've been weighed, but just sit and wait.

For the next half hour the consultant goes around the class and praises people who've lost, and they say a bit about how they did it. There's a bit of a silly game with points being given out to two sides. The problem is I feel I don't learn anything from going there. I've seen posts where others have said their consultant brings in something they've cooked and they taste it. But my consultant has never done that. With WW the consultant has a little talk prepared, and gives hints and tips about sticking to the plan.

It helps to know I'm going there each week to be weighed, but if I was a consultant I'd have ideas to make the class interesting and inspiring.

    What happens in your class?

    Emma,

Exactly the same thing happens in my class, and to be fair, I find it all really boring

I'm thinking of going it alone, I have really accurate scales, and usually know what I weigh before going to weigh in.

The only problem is that I need to be sure I will be strict enough with myself as I don't want to put all the weight back on

the problem is I keep wanting chocolate and all those things that made me put weight on. :(

Emma i find if i'm having sweet cravings I make a cup of cocoa..cocoa powder is only about 1/2 syn (so less that options/highlights etc) using my milk allowance and a spoon full of splendor and that usually helps. If you feel like you really have the munchies in try dipping banana or strwberries into melted chocolate..you get the taste of the choc but won't eat as much as if you'd eaten a whole bar. I've also heard of people eating frozen grapes to beat the sweet cravings but i haven't tried that..let me know how you get on if you do:rotfl:

I'm thinking exactly the same Charlie's Mum. I suppose if we go it alone though it's so easy to give up isn't it. It's easy to jump on and off our scales at home, but it's a good feeling when someone else weighs you and says you've lost whatever.

As I don't learn anything I suppose I could just go and get weighed then come home, but is it worth the effort of going and paying just for that?

I suppose we could commit to weighing ourselves at the same time every week as our normal weigh in, and declare on here how we have done. As long as we promise not to fib, maybe that will keep us focussed

That's a good idea, but I haven't really decided yet whether I'm going back. I've only been three times in total, so may go another couple of weeks, but can see myself leaving after that.

Emma - your experience sounds exactly like mine! If I'm making the effort to go to a 'class' then I expect to learn something,or at least come home inspired and raring to go.Unfortunately that was never my experience. However I've just checked the SW website and it seems there is a new consultant at my old class!:T So I might pop off there on thursday and see if she's any good.As I said before I'd like to go to class but I won't go if I'm not gaining anything positive from it.There was a link to a SW page with all her details on it.She runs 3 classes around my Borough and used to be a chef apparently so I'm expecting lots of ideas and tips.Hopefully this consultant will be the one I've been looking for! :D
