the finances wont stretch to a slimming club subscription or classes.
I have done ww for years - always manage to lose a couple of stone and then gain them again (with a few lbs for company).
I have never tried anything else (other than the short term faddy stuff) and I do not have the time to trawl through this 282 page thread (even though I know that will be probably be the best way to find out if sw would help me).

So I guess I am asking whether sw would suit a veggie who can cook but doesnt have loads of time or money for buying and making diet meals.

I am 15 stone and have no idea how the equates to syns or anything else.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as i would love to shift a few stone for christmas and more importantly break this yo yo cycle as I am only getting bigger and bigger and bigger with every time I fail.

    Hello everyone,
long time not here - I've been off on my hols so lots of naughty drinking and eating!!!
Anyway, I shall Weigh myself tomorrow morning and see what damage I've done - hoping it won't be too bad, but thinking it probably will be.

    Hi annamc,

SW suits veggies very well - just means you'd do all green days (unlimited 'free' pasta, rice, vegetables, fruit, salad, potatos). There is no complicated 'diet meals' - this isn't a diet - it's healthy eating. Bread is a measued 'Healthy Extra' as are cereals, cheese, milk, canned fruits (and meat if you're not veggie)

If you go to group once you get the books etc a lot cheaper than on eBay and the class and consultant will give you the basics you need.

Any specific questions just ask! :D

Everyone gets 15 syns a day regardless of weight. If you're struggling to lose that last few lbs then you can cut them to 10 or 5 but they are part of your eating so you really should have them.

    Cxx

Not been on for a while, so thought I'd catch up. Everyone seems to be doing amazingly well and even those that are alittle disappointed with their loses should be proud of themselves for sticking with it. Those just starting out, trust me, this plan really does work. Well I had WI on Thursday and managed to lose another 3lbs taking me to 2 st 11lbs lost since mid April and I'm absolutely over the moon with that. Unbelievably I've still had hardly any comments about my weight loss even though even I can see the difference now, and some of my clothes are too big to wear anymore. I've still got roughly another 2 stone to lose though so may be I'll get some comments soon. Keep up the good work everybody, I'm off to the comping board now to see whats been going on over there whilst I've been AWOL, might see some of you there.

hello everyone and well done all losers!!! Welcome back peachy!! Well done Reddeb and InTheRed, I'm 2lbs from my 1st stone as well so hopefully we will all get there this week!!

RebekahR, Ive found the perfect thing for sweet cravings! Tesco sell Sula Sugar Free Strawberry sweets, they are hard boiled, (like a werthers original but strawberry flavoured) and they are only half a syn for 2!!!! So, you can have 4 and its only 1 syn!!! The added benefit also is if you have too many, they have a laxative effect (as my sister found out!!) :rotfl: :rotfl:
    big big well done moosetastic , your do it :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T , go girl

Hello there everyone, just popped in to say that at my WI on Thursday nite I lost 3lbs!! I got my 3stone award and I am really chuffed.
The support and praise I get in my class really spurs me on, and makes me feel great.
Well done all of you, you're doing so well. Even the ones who are 1 foot off the wagon are brave for sticking with it, and we all know how hard it is to get back in the drivers seat- you will get there.

Ajgrist - Well done on losing 11lbs. That's amazing in such a short time.:j Actually there was much discussion at our SW group this week about people giving the password to other people and people on forums asking for it and it being PM'd.

The vast majority said they wouldn't do it because we all pay our weekly fee and often transport costs to get to group. The class fees are pretty reasonable really and we get the mag cheaper too, which is very good. You also get email/telephone contact with your counsellor and of course the site itself.

I know this is a money-saving site and we're all watching the pennies but it doesn't seem very fair really .... especially when people on this forum give others LOADS of support, recipes and ideas for free.

Penny whilst I understand your sentiments,I don't think they are entirely fair.I for one would happily pay my weekly fees if there was a consultant in my area worth the money!I have tried both the classes in my local area and I'm sorry but they were both absolutely hopeless!Disinterested, uninspirational and frankly, boring.I attended 3 meetings at each class (I joined twice approx 2 1/2 years apart and when I checked the website they were both still there) and when I left/didn't return neither of them even bothered to contact me - which I've since been told they should?!I think if you're are lucky enough to have a great consultant you're blessed but if you're not then you can end up feeling ripped off and unsupported, whether you can afford the fees or not. This is the reason many people don't go to their local class.

I,for one, don't miss my 'ANNE DIAMOND' lookalike, soundalike and excusealike. This particular woman was a very large lady, which is fine, however she had been with SW for about 10 years!Sorry but when she used to go on about the way the 'plan' USED to be,and have 2/3/4 lb gains herself each of the weeks I was there,I used to go home feeling stupid!Never in the history of the world has a woman retained so much water, apparently. She must have been building a dam in her bladder!

The other consultant had clearly lost a lot of weight, she had the photos to prove it,however she seemed extremely miserable about it and only appeared to own one pair of trousers, and they were obviously 'before' trousers!Several members asked me jokingly what I thought of her before and after pics, and what I thought of her 'now' pics! And her trousers! She would whisper about this, that and the other whilst the louder members of the group shouted over her,and the woman next to me (whom I knew from the pub I worked in) asked me how many flexi days I could get away with and still lose weight?!I knew just from what she drank in the pub she was having at least 4 a week herself!I was astonished when I walked in and saw her there,I never would have guessed she was trying to lose weight.

So I'm sorry but,no,I won't be going to class again unless the consultants in my area change!
    :T:jHalf a stone off,only another 2 to go!:j:T
    :p:D;)Cats are truly evil,like women....;):D:p
    Was 11 st 5,now 10 st 7,would like to be....9 stone
