Does anyone else find that although they can eat as much as they like (of free foods of course) their stomach has shrunk?

I used to be able to eat a good meal of meat and two veg and still snack all night on all sorts of junk - lunch too a sarnie was never enough - I had to have crisps and chocolate and diet coke too. Now I can't eat anything after my sandwich/main meal (which are the size they've always been!)

I've had pudding rice and the relevant mullers for nearly three weeks but neither of us want to eat it after dinner! :rotfl:

It came up at one my SW meetings recently re meringues.

Another member had made her own using splenda (free) and egg white (also free).Consultant 31 - can you confirm this meringue mixture is free or is it to be synned as it is using a product for the purpose it is not intended??

add this to shape lasting satisfaction yogurt and fresh fruit and you have the most yummy desert

but I have never made meringues in my life - can anyone give me any pointers? and how do you get them nice and chewy? I bought some at somerfield which were about 3 or 4 sysn each and they were ok but I did regret using my 3 syns for them.

This is the recipe I have:

MERINGUES - syn free both days & can keep in airtight tin for week!

    4 Egg Whites
16 tbsp Splenda (allow 4 tbsp per Egg White)

    Preheat oven 110C

Line Baking sheet with non-stick baking paper.

In large bowl (make sure it's extremely clean and dry) whisk Egg Whites into soft peaks.

Whisk Splenda in a tbsp at a time till stiff then fold in remaining with metal spoon.

When whites become fluffy stop and lift up some mixture - it should stand up in stiff pointed peaks. Over-beating can lose air so check every few seconds. Too much Splenda added at once will soften whites and prevent crispness etc.

Beat mixture together well after each addition but don't over-mix!

Drop spoonfuls spaced apart onto paper using tsp for small or dessertspoon for large meringues!

Bake 90 mins or till dry and lift easily off paper (slow gentle cooking ensures they are light and dry with no stickiness).

    Cool at room temperature.

To the best of my knowledge these are free as the ingredients don't contain any calories so they can't come under the misuse rule.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

My advice is to ditch the home scales. Your weight goes up and down almost by the hour and weighing more than once a week is counter-productive. It's highly unlikely you've gained with one meal out - drink lots of water to help flush it through and I bet you see a loss :)

I'm on my hols for 12 days from Thursday so if anyone has any questions, please don't think I'm ignoring you. Stay strong and true to the plan :D

Well, I went to weigh in , and lost 1/2 lb - thank goodness my consultant counts halves. I think my problem last week was home made bread, I was happily munching 2 slices a day, until I read consultant31's comment about 10 syns per slice  Back to the Nimble this week

Thanks for all the encouragement, I'm back on track again :T

Oooh, I appear to have a medal on my stars, anyone know why ?

There is a link to a load of SW recipes (and WW too) from the Lose weight thread in the I wanna board. Maybe someone (a bit cleverer than me :D ) could tell us how to add them to this collection?
