Hi I am with Vodafone and had a W850i sony phone. I have a new contract and so they said they would unlock this old phone and I could use it SIM free. They have sent off to Sony for the un lock codes.

As this post states that there are no unlock codes for Sony phones... Why are they asking for an unlock code?

    Hello
Please can anyone help unlock a Samsung SGH-E370, locked to Vodafone.
    Many thanks in advance

    Hi Peteraj,

It's now free to unlock a Vodafone contract phone regardless of how long you've had it with us. We are no longer locking our phones for contract moving forward and are therefore offering all unlock codes on pay monthly free of charge.

To request the code you have a few options. You can call us for free on 191 from a pay monthly phone, you can also do this in any of our Vodafone stores across the UK. Finally you can e-mail us using the Vodafone online contact us form in the help section of the Vodafone website here.

All we need is your account details to access it and then your security details will be checked for data protection and security. Once we've done this, we need the make, model and IMEI number of the device for unlocking. You can get the IMEI number on a sticker in the battery compartment of the phone or by pressing *#06# and it will show up on the screen. It's 15 digits long and starts with 35.

We can normally provide most unlocking codes and procedures within 5 working days of your request and sometimes even sooner.

Nearly all phones including Sony ones have unlock codes. Some are not free unless you have a provider like Virgin or Vodafone.
  • Anyone know how to unlock Sony Ericsson phones? W880i for example?

  • I have been given a couple of unused Phillips Savvy DBs that are currently on BT Cellnet. I would like to get them unlocked so I can use my Virgin PAYG SIM card and have found these phones really tough in comparison to the more modern phones (a Nokia lasted about three months after being dropped or left in the bottom of a tool box).

Does anybody have any unlocking codes for these phones or know where I can find any information?

When I put in my SIM card, I get the "Enter NCK" message.

Googling proved more than useless as it just flagged up the usual pool of sharks waiting to rip you off.

You may find software here that will unlock the Savvy DB.
 Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:
  • Hello Espresso, thanks for the link. I have not opened it yet but assume that I need to connect the phones to my PC to modify the phone software? As I am a bit of a Luddite concerning new technology, is the software programme idiot proof?
