Has anyone been successfully in getting their phone unlocked by their phone provider for free? I've spent well over an hour on the phone today with T-Mobile, firstly getting cut off after waiting 10+ minutes waiting to speak to a Team Leader, then being told that I should ring Tesco as I purchased the contract via them dispitemaking all payments to them, only to be told by Tesco that only T-Mobile can request the unlocking, finally I called T-Mobile and eventually got to speak to a Team Leader I argued the case that now my contact is up and therefore the phone now belongs to me I should get the phone unlocked for free, the problem of having a charge for getting my phone unlocked was caused by the company was they were the ones who requested the phone to be locked in the first place. However this did not get me any further and I requested the problem to be logged as a complaint. - Very frustrated.

My phone is a Samsung GT-55830

We have an LG GT405 which we'd like to use as a spare/emergency phone.

It used to be on contract and I think it's locked to Orange?

Pls does anyone know whether there is a free way to unlock this phone or what the cheapest/most reliable way would be to do this?
