Hi is it possible to unlock a samsung galaxy ace s5830 locked to orange to get it to use a vodafone sim please?0

The link to trycktill in moneysavingexpert.com - phones - unlock-mobile-phone#free doesn't seem to work.
But I found unlocking instructions for my HTC Desire at:
community.giffgaff.com
and they worked perfectly.
Please ask me for details of the links. I'm too new to the site to be able to post links.0 -

I only want to get my contacts off it...
Is there no way you can backup your contacts (say to your GMail account) ? If you have cancelled your O2 contract and the SIM doesn't work (which sometimes stops a mobile from doing anything but emergency calls), you could probably get an O2 SIM, a GiffGaff SIM or maybe Tesco Mobile (since GiffGaff and Tesco use O2 network) to try.
Feel sure you could get a free O2 or GiffGaff SIM via the web, then backup your contacts (so you can download them into another Android mobile). I know there are Apps to backup most things so should not be impossible... Good luck! (PS what will you do with the mobile?)0 -

Thank you
I have managed to get to the address book on the phone now. I just need to sit and copy off all the contacts now. At least its a step better.
ì'm not sure about the phone yet. It is properly broken tho, so can'taimagine that anyone would want it
