Good Morning!
catznine That's terrible news about your dd being mugged.Hope the thugs get punished eventually.
icecubequeen Congratulations on your new job, that was quick!
dlb Well done to your ds2 for getting into his chosen school.
Well I'm still waiting for dd1's letter from the LEA informing us which school she's got into....so I decided to phone up her chosen school and was told... SHE'D GOT IN!!! :j :j :j Phew, that's a relief and a couple of her friends are also going there so that will make it a bit easier for her. Just got to save up for the expensive uniform now, oh and wait for her official LEA letter which might come before September!
After dropping the girls at school I came home and gave the house a good dust, mop and hoover so the rest of the day is mine, well until 3pm when I need to go and collect the girls from school.
We're having tacos for tea and I've got some avocados to make into guacamole which DH and I love and always fight over!
Have a good day!0 -
Gosh, I haven't been on here in months and months, but decided that it was time to come back as I have found out that I am pregnant!
I want to do everything Os and I would be better now if it weren't for my long days at work and the fact that we have two lodgers living with us and I can't be bothered being Os when they won't help me. So I stick to simple dinners for them, not nice homecooked concoctions that I used to do before they came along. Cannot be doing with them stealing my homemade Hobnobs!
I still do little bits. I have four lots of spag bol in the freezer each containing 2 portions. It will be nice when that will actually last for four dinners and not only two cos the lodgers need feeding. Even though they pay me money, I think it will make it feel as though my food shopping is going that little bit further!
I have so many plans for when my little one comes along. Everything as cheap as poss of course, but not only from necessity, but also cos it's what I want to do.
I know I probably won't be saying this in 7 months time, but I plan to breastfeed, use cloth nappies etc etc. Can't wait.
Lodgers have been told they have to go, and that will save on leccie as one of them has a big fish tank and I have a second freezer to accommodate them. I'm already thinking of the savings from when they go, guess I'll miss their rent though!
I won't be on here all the time as I simply can't keep up with the threads moving so quickly as I should actually be working, but I'll do me best!Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

Afternoon................(((((((((HUGS)))))))))))) if you need one........
Late posting, I took Em to Aldi today, we are out of the grape stuff, so bought 6 bottles, it will have to last us until our hols...............I managed to spend £27!!!!
Its a lovely bright day, but cold bbbbbbbbbrrrrrrrrrrrr needed my long johns on.
We stayed up last night to watch Frost, and I was still reading until 2.30am, so feeling a little jaded today, have to try and get some sewing done this afternoon.
We are planning a trip into town tomorrow, I want to make some enquiries about our prospective trip to Florida/New York..............we need to think about booking the flights at least, a couple of Hotels in mind, one is quite a bit more than the other, but I guess what you pay for. We really just need somewhere to lay our heads when we get back exhausted after a days sightseeing/shopping. One is nearer central park than the other, both get mixed reviews on Trip Advisor, but I guess what is good to some is rubbish to others.............we will see.
I need to make a loaf, the last one I made was a disaster for some reason, I am not sure why, its my first bad loaf in the panny, it did not rise properly and had a very hard crust, its now been made into breadcrumbs.
Off for some lunch.................cheers
GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.............................
PS> Have just heard on the lunchtime news headlines that fuel may go up to £1.50 a litre, that will be the end of our car, there is no way I can sustain that sort of rise. The car costs us a lot to run and most of the time it sits outside, so I am paying car tax etc for a car we are not using. It will make life very difficult for us. We would not be able to visit my youngest daughter, house sit for my friend nor would I be able to visit my quilting friend. two buses to get there and I would virtually have to turn round and come home when I get there. It would be easier to hire a car for a couple of days at a time. No more holidays to France unless we go somewhere with transport. We both hate package holidays, like to be able to do our own thing when we feel lke it, and the allotment would have to go, we cannot get there by public transport without again 2 change of buses...........oh dear, thats put me in a very bad mood.
Whats going on, announcement on the headlines, nothing on the news.......................midlands news says that fuel prices will hit £1.50 by the end of the year...................................Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -

Went to get the dressings on my arm changed and it seems to be healing!:j
Did a quick shop on the way home and had to pick up prescriptions.
Got home and cleaned cooker hob and hung out washing and loaded WM again as well as the dishwasher.
Spent some time on here and now feel tired so might go and lie down for an hour.
Sunny day here but quite cold. Hope it is good drying weather.
Going to see what I missed yesterday."This site is addictive!"

Hello all !
Not a good day so far...................2am this morning OH fell down the stairs -missed his footing on the way to the loo in half asleep state ! I found him in heap at the bottom of the stairs. He'd gashed his toe and was dripping blood all over the carpet (now must find thread about shifting stains !). Got his foot cleaned up and he could stand but ached like mad. Refused to go to hospital and there was me frantic that he'd broken something. Got back to bed at 3am and up again at 7.30am to get lad off to school ! OH slept on and on and on...................I rang ex foster lads girlfriend -needed shopping/pension collection ect and didn't want to leave OH. She arrives and I burst into tears like a total lemon.................anyway, two cups of coffee later, shopping list all worked out and OH comes down the stairs............aching a bit but says he's not as bad as when he woke first thing.................so now he's gone to fetch my pension and shopping. Felt total idiot calling someone out on what seems now like a fools errand...................******men !!
So, I'm feeling washed out, worn out and no way will the painting I started yesterday get finished today..............tomorrow I'm supposed to be going for a facial/eyebrow shape/lip wax.............so just hope I feel more awake and 'with it' than I do now..................sorry for winge but its been one of those days so far...................can only get better can't it ? Yes, course it can.
Have a good day..................and hugs to all who need them(((((((((:p ))))))))))Mary

My friend and I stayed in the NewYorker when in the Big Apple. Just on the corner of 5th Avenue. No frills but clean and comfortable. Plenty of delis nearby and not far from the bus station if you want to do the trip to the big out of town shopping centre (can't remember it's name) but it was a great day out! Bought loads of stuff for the kids plus DH and we both had to buy holdalls to bring it back on the bus!!!!!!!!! Hotel very central for all the sightseeing and you can see the Empire State Building from it!
