OS Daily Wednesday 5th March

Off to get the sticky...........

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 5th March 2008. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Good morning everyone, I am full of a stinking cold - don't think I'm going to go into work this morning.

DH has just left to go on a business trip to France, he'll be back tomorrow evening.

Need to put the WM and BM on - and I might catch up with some knitting - if I can stop sneezing for long enough

Hope everyone has a great day (((((hugs)))))
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)

    Morning :hello:

I've been up since 4am but couldn't be bothered to start the thread  :D

I've got toothache and it's spread to my brain, my whole head is useless today :rotfl:

Washer's on, I want to get the ironing done today too. Mr tru has the day off so I expect he'll be in my way  I want to pop to the office, I need to get all the names and addresses of everyone we've ever dealt with so I can advise of a change of address. Boss has finally listened to me about wasting money so he's getting rid of the office, along with that goes the internet access, 2 phone lines and the council tax/biz rates/whatever it's called. We do all the paperwork/computer stuff at home, in the end we only used the office to pick up the post and grab the odd file. Wondering what he's going to chuck out and can I have it? :rotfl:

    Morning SOMO1 & everyone else
Thanks for the pics on yesterdays thread, my morning cuppa is now all over my screen.
Frosty here again so I'll need to scrape the car before I leave for work. I don't have any leftovers in the freezer so I'm taking salad for lunch, I must be mad in this weather.
Katy's interview is tomorrow, there are 3 applicants, 1 sounds brilliant, he can spell & has some experience at IT & at teaching, I doubt if he'd take the job. the other one is on a par with Katy, his CV has random capital letters in in bold type in weird places, strange spelling & even stranger sentence formation. Katy's CV was almost blank, her diplomas & degree's are all 'pending' though she has worked in a department store for 6 months.
It will be busy at work again, but I've made 3doz cakes to take in, so they should help keep the atmosphere cheery.
    Hugs Hester

Hi stressed, hope you feel better soon, looks like everyone is having a lie-in today.

Freezing cold here today, but supposedly it is going to get warmer tomorrow. It had better, we are going away in the caravan for Easter - I remember it was lovely last year, but with it being so early, I'm not holding my breath

Work today so something in the slow cooker with jacket pots for tea. Think I will take some savoury rice for lunch, I have one of those food flasks, but it doesn't really work :o

Have a good day everyone x

Must be getting slow at typing, Tru and Hester sneaked in before me :D Tru, hope you feel better soon, HI Hester

    Morning all

Have been up since 4am writing essay. Nearly finished just need to do the conclusion and references. Could have cried yesterday it went so badly, took me an hour to find one reference  . In the end I went to bed at 8.30pm.

Plans for today is to finish essay off and post it. Will probably go and see if i can spend my New Look gift card after as I have got to get out of this house! Then it will be housework. Need to look in the freezer for tea, it really is groaning and things need to be eaten up.

HUGS TO ALL WHO NEED ONE. SMOKEY THINKING OF YOU.

    Have a good day all.

    Morning everyone.

STRESSEDOUT - (((Hugs))) to you - don't go to work, you'll be much better off at home and if you can catch up with some knitting that will be a bonus. Hope you get better soon.

    CHURCHMOUSE :hello: :hello: :hello:

    SMOKY - thinking of you.

I sped-read (if that's the right expression!) through the rest of yesterday's thread earlier this morning and meant to make a couple of comments but I've forgotten what they were supposed to be about so I'll have to check later. I know someone's (CATOWEN or CATZNINE) DD was threatened with mugging yesterday so I hope she's feeling less shaky this morning.

MRS MIX - I hope that's the end of the headbutter's activities. I hate bullying like this and it seems to be on the increase, I think.

Well, I shall be collecting DGS from school this afternoon and bringing him back for dinner so I'm looking forward to that. He's very pleased with himself because he came 3rd in his gymnastics competition last week and even had to stand on the podium - that's worth £2 of my money and £2 of Grandad's I think!

Cold start again this morning but at least DH's car started first time. I didn't want to have to sacrifice mine because I'm going to M&S to spend some birthday vouchers this morning (I've had them six months so I really want to spend them before I forget them altogether!) Our local M&S is one of the biggest in Europe; I hate big shops so I'm only going out of sheer necessity. I haven't been there for about four years so I expect they've moved everything around since my last visit!

The WM is on, the BM is about to go on, I'm going to have my shower and whiz round the house doing a quick tidy up and I shall try and get out for about 9.30. I'm hoping to get to the gym after my trip to M&S. I'm still sorting out my fabric stash - I put everything on the spare bed thinking I'd sort it in half an hour but it's going to take a lot longer than that, now - I can tell just by looking at it. Still, it'll be a job well done.
I've also mislaid my Household Manual and I've got a horrid feeling that I've thrown it out during my 'let's organise the office again' adventure. Still, I treated myself to a lovely indexed book - complete with pockets - from Sainsbury's so I shall make that my new manual and try and keep it tidier than the old one!

Anyway, I'm rambling again - off to have a shower. Will see you all later and I promise to spend just my vouchers in M&S and not to add real money to them!

    Have a great day, everyone.

Washing is out and bm on. Going to work on my bike today. Weather is freezing cold but no wind or rain.
Dinner tonight is going to be pasta, which reminds me, must take pasta sauce out of freezer before i go to work today. My penultimate day at work today. Looking forward to having some time off and baking up a storm.
Hope you all have a good day. Hugs and best wishes to all.

    Morning All

Didn't finish work till 11pm last night, so very, very tired this morning. Think I'm working again tomorrow night and I don't get a day off until a week on Saturday. I think a big show down's planned at work over the treatment of people - about time too.

Going to see the musical Zorro this evening - free tickets. Must get petrol first though. I have a 5p off a litre thing for Mr T, so that will help a little bit, but petrol is 102.9p at the moment:eek: And that's the cheapest I can find.

Heard today the government want to bring in toll booths on the fast lane of motorways. What next? Do they think we're made of money.

    Just doing my daily clicks

    Hope everyone's ok
