Mornig all  catznine, hope your DD is okay, that's a really awful thing to happen. Well done on your job icecubequeen!

It's freezing here, really really cold. I've just got in and I can hardly feel my hands. OH managed to get through to the German Embassy yesterday and cancelled his ID card - he's had to send some forms off but they are all in the post so he's a bit more relaxed now. He still has his passport, so he can still travel which is good. We're off to Berlin this weekend, which should be nice.

Met up with a friend for lunch yesterday which was nice as I hadn't seen him for a while.

It's the teddy hall relay race this afternoon, oxford's annual mid-week relay run (4 x 3.6 miles) - My group has put four teams in this year. I ran it once years ago and it was horrible, I can walk or cycle for miles, but I'm just not built for running. So I shall think of my collegues as they are outside on the running track freezing. And I shall laugh. Still, lab to myself this afternoon which will be bliss. :D Teaching tommorrow - but last session of the term thankfully.

Dinner is pastry-less quiche [STRIKE]because I couldn't be bothered to make pastry last night[/STRIKE] because it's more heathy, that is if OH hasn't taken it for lunch.

Have a good day all. cel x

Please could you tell me how you make your pastryless quiche? Ratio of egg to milk etc, what goes in and how long to cook? I fancy that, rest of family all want pastry. I'm being a bit careful, when I first hit the OS board in Jan I seemed to be making it tooooo often

OH took the girls to school this morning so I have been lazing around. :D
I need to do some office work again today and have to go to the printers. Other than that it's ironing, making bread and cooking corned beef hash with bubble and squeak. How exciting.

I use this one, just like a baked omlette really - I love proper quiche with all the cream, but it's so bad for me because I will just sit and finish it (I'm worse with cheese things than I am with chocolate and that's saying something!) I always line the tin though, because it sticks like crazy. OH has made it with tinned tuna and tinned salmon and it worked fine too. Quantities are a bit vague, but just use what you have - I tend to do it to use up left over cold meat and random bits of veg. :) I normally throw about 25 g strong chedder in it too, but that's optional as well (but good for using up the odd random bits of cheese that live in the fridge).
    PASTRYLESS QUICHE
    1 large onion
1/4 cup cold meat (I used pre-packed ham yesterday, but any cold meat or fish is fine)
1/4 cup chopped vegtables (mushrooms, peppers, courgettes)
    200g Cottage Cheese
    4 Eggs
    Salt and pepper

Line the bottom of the quiche dish with cooking parchment
slice the onion and soften in a pan. Pour into the quiche pan
Add the cold meat and vegetables
Mix the cottage cheese, strong cheese (if using) and eggs together, season and pour over the vegtables and meat.

Place in moderate oven until brown and set (30 mins, 160 degrees in my oven, which is electric and fan assisted) - it will spring back when you touch the top it if it is done and a knife will come out clean.

    Morning everyone,
Havent been on for a few days and will catch up with last few days threads in a moment.
Hope you are all ok, Smokey hugs to you (((()))

Been a busy old start to the week, ds2 got a place at his chosen secondary school.
Ds1 was off ill yesterday went to doctors and his stomach pains are get this as it never even crossed my mind i thought he was pulling a fast one...Puberty!! I cant ever remember stomach complaints being part of it, but doctor has told me that it can effect any part of the body with all the hormones rushing around so now i feel guilty for thinking he just wanted the day off school!!!

I have been appointed website administrator for dh and ds3 football club, so have spent more than a few hours getting the new site up and running and issuing password to all the club managers!! Im really enjoying doing it and am popping out later to take some pictures of the club grounds to put on there, there are so many thing to sort out like parent permission slips to use their childs photographs, making sure no names are linked to Photographs due to child protection the list goes on and on.

Os wise plenty to do, loads of washing and ironing as normal, tea to prepare, but thought id have half hour catching up with you all.
    Have good days everyone
