Went to the huge Tesco in Stockport...had a huge list off this site to check unfortunately,..either they remoned the labels or the product was correctly priced...BUT I spotted the smoked Gammon which had £5.98 for 1.2kg and most of the gammon had NO PRICE but four had £6.26 on the packs. Since I don't eat gammon I thought I'd pick up two and give it a go....RESULT £12.52 refund, will be donate said pieces to a friend and her dawg. They changed the sign afterwards...0

I was in Tescos Durham yesterday, teh only price differential I could see were cheese, which I'd stocked up on the day before from a different Tesco, but in Durham they had a sign near meat and cheese which said something along the lines of, "shelf edge price is for general/customer information only".
I wondered if I did buy anything would they use that as a get out, can't see trading standards being too happy at that. There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.0 -

Sounds like Tesco don't like having their own policies used in earnest, it's a dead cert. they'd try to use this statement as a get-out clause, however it's in direct conflict with their own company-wide total-refund-and-keep policy so I would argue that that policy took precedent.
Found the Somerset Brie today, price on shelf £6.89/kg, price on packaging £7.30/kg. Together with the medium cheddar and bacon joints yesterday, done fairly well. Also spotted Healthy Eating fresh Cod, overpriced by a few pence per kg, but I feel awkward going to CS with more than 1 overprice - am I the only one? lol.
Anyone know if Brie freezes? The use by date isn't that long.0 -

Most cheeses don't freeze well at all although I have put Stilton into the freezer for a couple of months wrapped in foil and it has been ok. But soft cheeses like Brie certainly won't freeze well though so I'd get eating it up if I were you0 -
Had my first success with this last night when I got 6 packs of Healthy Living Mild Cheddar 250g - priced on the packs as £1.19 but a shelf price of £1.08.
CS went off and came back with the ticket from the shelf - apologised and handed over the £7.14.
I also got 2 each of the Nestle Fitness/Fitness with Fruit/Cheerios with fruit on BOGOF all with £3 coupons and DVD's on the packs - and I paid using 2 x £3 joey coupons.
6 boxes of cereal and 6 packs of cheese for about 34p - fantastic value for money !!!Your really can not beat a good bargain !!!0 -
Saw lots of staff checking fresh food prices with hand held scanners today. Hope the b*ggers aren't on to us!!!! :mad:0

I had a go at this for the first time today.
Brought 2 packs of Tesco Farmhouse extra mature chedder £3.45 on the shelf and £3.65 on the packs. Scanned at the self-service tills at £3.65, went to CS and £7.30 credited back to me and free 2 blocks of cheese!
I was a little cautious over this as the barcoding on the shelf tags don't match to the codes on the pack - but it still works if the description is correct. Note look out for the Bacon (Red Packs) £1.65 I think on the packs and its £1.45 on the shelfs... so - im off to get them now to stock up on the freezer for old bacon sarnies.
6 Packs of birds eye beef in gravy as well for 300 points (£12 in deals - new cooker for the kicthen next year) :j
Now off to another tescos to use the 2 Joey £3.00 coupons.

I always check my receipt just in case something has been charged at the wrong price but I never thought of going out on the hunt for incorrectly priced goods :rotfl:Saving for Disney again, oops why book one Disney holiday when you can book two!:starmod: Emergency Fund Savings - #148 - £10/£1000 1% :starmod::xmastree:#083 SPC6 £63 - SPC7 £90 - SPC8 £63 - SPC9 £54 - SPC10 £26 - SPC12 £70 :xmastree:0 -
Hi, got some more bacon today price £1.90 shelf £1.66 on both smoked and unsmoked, also larger packs showed wrong prices but as couldn't find instore scanner didn't risk it. My daughter and I plan days out only if there is a Tesco store on route. Also when they sell ready meals off cheap you still get £1 nocked of if you buy 2. Got 2 chicken in asparagus for reduced price of £1.14 each on pack and another pound off at till making them £1.28 for 2 not bad0
