Sainsbury's Basics good/bad items

And another thing - Sainsbugs' stock levels are very impressive (certainly far better than Asda & Tesco IME). We had an 89-item  order delivered today and not one substitution. When you consider this order included 5 jars of the basics curry sauce that is currently on offer at 4p
then it's a great effort IMO.

agreed - our order last week only had one substitution - they had run out of basics tortilla chips so i had Sainsbury's own!

We have tried these but the Tesco ones are better, more fruity bits in theirs.0 -
all the fruit and veg is bargainous! I only had £8 and managed to properly fill a small trolley with all sorts, admittedly I had a calculator and it took ages, but i fed myself for 2weeks, it just involved planning all meals in advance and some creative cookery!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Don't like Sainsbury's Basic tinned Spaghetti. The mint sauce is okay. Love the tomato sauce. Better and much cheaper than the brand named ones.0

Basics Bananas were a hit no difference in taste or quality to higher and overly priced versions.
Basics Honey, very nice even though slightly runnier than the other brand I used to buy, but will still be buying the basics version from now on.
Edit: forgot to add Basics Natural Yogurt and all the more nicer at 46p for 500gms2011 Sealed Pot Challenge #1238 hoping for £250 ~ saved £743.32

Basics bananas are fairtrade as well. As are the stupendously cheap basics tea bags. Very good ethics IMO.Call me Carmine....

Quick question - does the curry sauce work with anything other than chicken? Say prawns or vegetables or chick peas?
many thanks for all the tips on this thread
MoamAlthough no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.

Some of our friends made a prawn curry with it and loved it. So much so they have bought several more jars. Of course, use basics prawns (£1.84 for 250g) and it makes it an even more bargainous mealCall me Carmine....
