    My good and bad are:

    Good:
    Popcorn
    Tinned toms
    chocolate (milk and dark)
    baked beans
    Pasta
    Chips
    Fish fingers
    Bread rolls
    English muffins
    All of the biscuits
    Snack crackers
    Orange juice
    loo roll
    kitchen roll
    UHT milk
    White loaf
    fresh cooking onions
courgettes (only available when in season)
garlic (just as good as the other stuff)
    coleslaw
    butter
    bacon
instant hot chocolate (OK for what it costs)
frozen cauliflower (very small florets, probably swept up off the floor but at least they cook quicker!!)
    SR and plain flour
    scourers

    Bad:
Wheat biscuits - they don't "dissolve" as well as their own brand/Weetabix.
Bleach - bit too thin for me but if you were tp put it in a spray bottle to use on tiles/grout etc it's probably better for that

As you can see we buy a lot of the basics range!

My father rates the toilet cleaner, btw! He's always been a Toilet Duck kind of guy, lol, but I got him the basics toilet cleaner and he thinks it's as good (after figuring out how to angle the nozzle so as to get the same trajectory as the ergonomically shaped Duck bottle :D. He is 80, after all :p).

He now will not pay more than 24p for a bottle of toilet cleaner (and neither will we! :D)

PS I wasn't aware that they did basics pickled onions? Just checked on mysupermarket and they don't come up if you search by basics as they are apparently classed as Economy? Thanks for the heads up, qetu1357

    31p for 440g jar. Cheap.

    Pretty 'healthy' as well:

    per 100g
    Cal 25kCal
    Fat Trace (low)
    Sat Fat Trace (low)
    Sugar 4.5g (low)
    Salt 1.5g (medium)

Will check them out in my next order!

ok heres what I have tried recentl
loose Apples - really really good only 64p a kg!!!
    Jaffa cakes - very nice
chocolate Digestives- very nice indeed def a bargain at 33p
    lemons-too small
    kiwis -too small
tomato sauce- not the best but ok
brown sauce- tastes ok but comes out the bottle in lumps!
Basic cream cleaner - too runny

Biggest surprise for me was the teabags, I am really really fussy when it comes to tea. I thought these would be disgusting but they are not bad at all, I still prefer the brown label but these are a bargain for 28p , they are quite strong which is good.

Shake the brown sauce before each use and it comes out smooth

My top ones (with prices I think)

    Breakfast juice - 56p
    Brown Sauce - 30p
    Pineapple chunks - 18p
    Picked onions - 31p
    Fruit and Fibre - 66p
    Chopped Toms - 33p
    Shampoo - 29p
    Shower gel - 10p
    Bubble Bath - 21p
    Tootbrushes - 10p
    Under Arm stuff - 36p
    Peanuts - 27p
    Potato Rings - 66p
    Fresh onions - 50p
Sadly these haven't been 33p in my Mr S for a long time, they went right up to 38p and only came down to 36p this week. I've been getting mine from Aldi until they drop the price.

I like the shower gel but think it's drying my skin out after having used it for about 6 months. I wouldn't use the shampoo again - it smells like an old ladies toilet :rotfl:(no offence to anyone who likes the smell...or is an old lady :o)

we used toilet cleaner this week and is fab decanted into a normal toilet cleaner bottle as much easier to use.

pitta breads are great we have on the bbq with kebabs very nice

pickled onions are very good husband used to only buy those expensive shallot ones but has converted to these as decanted into huge jar that has vinegar with dried chillies and peppercorns in so makes them nice and spicy for him.

panty liners are ok, but sanitary towels no no for me need decent ones with wings - got to be quality in that department sorry.

bread - husband says is fine personally dont eat white bread he loves it.

stock cubes- well stock cubes are stock cubes and like basics ones in sainsburys as can tell difference as colour coded rather than all silver wrapper like some others - as we put ours in a tin as keep fresher.

porridge oats- again these are fine for brekkie, bulking out mince and also flapjacks.

I agree, chopped tomatoes have been more than 33p in my nearest Sainsbury's for a while now - but I'll keep an eye in case the price is dropping again!

Gave the yoghurts another go, but still think they are disgusting, sorry.
