Cream. It's as thin as milk.

Cheddar cheese. Put this under the grill and it disappears completely. Nothing but clear oil running around the bottom of the pan.

  • Frozen Chicken burgers, were ok apparently, but I can't vouch for them myself, was junk eating husband.

Take extra care, I maintain a Sainsbury's Basics blog on the net, and have found the Chicken Burgers to be disappointing. I quote from my blog:
Be forewarned, the chicken core is 62% of the burger, and out of this core, only half of it is chicken thigh. If you do your math, only 31% of the burger consists of real chicken.

They didn't really taste that pleasant in my opinion, not being very meaty and all.

Avoid basics cling film, doesn't cling and pieces don't cut on the cutter very well! It's the only bad basics product I've come across so far though.

I'll second this, it really is rubbish! Also not microwave friendly which i thought was odd.

  • their mozzarella is also pretty good. I haven't tried the pearls, this was the whole buffalo mazzarella - nice and stringy on top of my lasagne!
  • Love their Midget Gems 28p
My mother uses the Basics Concentrated Fabric Conditioner - 51p
Curry Sauce is very similar to what chippies serve. My friend opens a jar, heats up half of the jar and freezes the other half for another day.
Basics White Rum is good says a friend - plus its in a plastic bottle so if you are accident prone - even better

I don't buy any basics/value ranges in meat products apart from Basics salmon fillets. Others I have tried are too fatty - even with draining the excess off. I don't like my tongue coated in fat _pale_

This is what puts me off buying basics meat. I always buy taste the difference burgers, which do contain meat.

Did that last weekend! Defrosted and heated up...it tasted as good as the first time. Recommended.
