I used to buy Instant Oarage Oats (Microwave) in those sachets. Suddenly thought why not try something. Bought a box of Microwave Oats & am slowly working my way through those jars inn the cupboard! Am flavoring with strawberry jam, Marmalade, Choc Spread, Honey- anything in a jar worth trying. Cheap, uses up old jam stocks & is exciting. Being in an area where people make jam & asked "do you want some of my rhubarb Jam which set too thick/too thin? ITS FREE & TASTES OK in Porrage,0

I always buy basic's scotch (9.39) its fab with the basics cola (17p) and cheaper than anyone else.
Also always buy basic breakfast juice, tinned chicken curry is really nice, baked beans, chopped toms, tuna, paste, cooked ham, their bread is nice when toasted, the kechap is just as good as normal but bit more runny. Their fruit and vag is really good espcially the bags which is already chopped up!
The only things I wont buy again are the loo cleaner and tinned meatballs.
Also have bought basics food storage boxes which were great and basics kettle which is really good as well.0 -
It is worth a check on the number printed on the basics eggs themselves -sometimes they are free-range (1) as opposed to Barn eggs (2) despite the packaging. They seem to be free-range ones ~ 50% of the times I check them (but I don't use many eggs so only check intermittantly). See here for egg code info.
I have a L!dl and A1di nearby if the Sa!nburys are barn eggs on that occasion (normally 99p/6 free range eggs in both L!dl and A1di).Mortgage free as of 12/08/20!

We tend to try all sorts from there but the one I have to mention is their Whole Chickens.. they are massive in comparison to other supermarkets and you get soo many meals out of them - cannot recommend them enough.Nothing is impossible...0

New store has just opened near me. My son bought the basics tea bags - 28p for 80. A builder doing work for us said we made a grand cup of tea- praise indeed! And they're freetrade0

Tinned pineapple is great at 16p
Instant custard is lovely at 8p
Pack of 4 low fat yogurts are nice at 24p
Natural yogrt is fine too at 46p
Bananas are brilliant, and fair trade too at 99p
Tinned tomatos are fine at 35p (though seen them cheaper in other stores)
Mushrooms fine at 89p
Kids fromage frais are fine at 45p
I've found all veg to be fine too.
I haven't tried anything like all the basics products, from the ones I have tried the only one I've been disappointed with so far have been the frozen peas. I always give basics a go, unless they are not fair trade or free range.0
