Saw the Basics Gin being talked about - what its the alc volume? Anyone know? Just wondered if it is weak so you would end up drinking more (or is that just an excuse I use :D)

I believe it's around 37.5% proof, think there are several branded gins around the same percentage. Nothing wrong with it, does the job. (Although Sainsbury's regular own brand is my personal favourite: it has a lovely really strong 'medicinal' aroma. And a lovely bottle and label: I admit it, I'm a label (and bottle) snob, but only on aesthetic grounds...)

    Some more I've tried recently:

Washing Powder - seems fine to me
    Lasagne sheets - lovely
Washing up liquid - bit runny but still does the job

once this snow has cleared then I am going to take a trip to Sainsburys and have a good mooch around the basics range. Already buy some, just didn't realise how much there was. Got to try the curry sauce and sweet & sour sauces.

Tried a friend's Basics Hula Hoops today and they were tasty ... might be putting some in my trolley next week. Couldn't take the difference from normal "Hulas" at all.
